Has anyone deduced some cunning work-around to this old thing that always prevents computers' DE invoking the timed screen-dimming etc, whenever V is running [ie, all the time, for me] ?
Btw, weird, isn't it, that i am using Snapshot, yet that icon picked up by the widget is for Stable [also installed, but not running].
To be clear, given the link, my issue is solely related to desiring KDE to be allowed to invoke its configured power management capabilities after x minutes or y hours of inactivity... i am not asking about V's power / resource consumption.
And yes, i do use uBlock Origin, but...

@Steffie I'm seeing the same thing. However, I don't have it all the time. I still do not get exactly when Vivaldi causes the problem.
The only difference I see with your setup is that, in V's privacy settings, I have "WebRTC IP Handling" checked.HTH

That Summary sentence above is actually a direct quote of the "Battery & Brightness" widget popup message in the Plasma5 System Tray. Please note that this [mis]behaviour is NOT related to any one specific Snapshot version; it has manifested for a very very long time. My OS is Linux openSUSE Tumbleweed [since ~May], & was Maui Linux before that; this behaviour always occurred with both distros.Pls see my post https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/20539/vivaldi-snapshot-is-still-currently-suppressing-power-management ... for all relevant further details about this problem.
Expected behaviour:
After the period of inactivity as set in my KDE Plasma5 System Settings, my external monitor [for my Tower] / screen [for my Laptop] should be allowed to dim, then later blank.Actual behaviour:
- Nothing... if V is running [which it is, almost all the time, ie, my KDE power management settings mostly never are able to operate].
- Correct KDE Power Management occurs... if V is NOT running [very rare].

I came back into my Study, after dinner, & was momentarily confused as the room was in darkness. That only used to happen when V was not running [ie, hardly never], so that the KDE power mngt can kick in. But i knew that, when i went for dinner, V was definitely running. Once i waggled the mouse & woke up the monitor again, i checked the System Tray widget, & saw the good news per pic above. This had been a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally old bug, so it's wonderful that it is now solved. Smiles!
