Why Isn't Security Certificate Information Displayed in the URL Bar?
-
Traditionally, when you click the green or blue box to the left end of the URL bar indicating a secure website connection, web browsers have disclosed the name of the security certificate issuer and who it was issued to.
I realize Chrome made a change where they no longer do this. However, just because Vivaldi uses the Blink/Webkit rendering engine does not necessarily mean Vivaldi has to go along with changes like that- or does it?
I would think for a browser like Vivaldi who's main purpose seems to be to provide power users or near power users with more information customizability than some of the major browsers, which are increasingly stripped down and simplistic one-size-fits all "solutions", it would be common sense to give us more complete information upon clicking on the box- the way it always used to be, and still is with some browsers.
I am actually really surprised that Vivaldi doesn't offer this information.

The function exists (Tools > Developer tools > Security or use Ctrl-Shift-I > Security), but that's obviously not where you traditionally found it on the address bar. Not being a Vivaldi developer, I don't know the difficulty or advisability of re-incorporating it where it used to be.

Also already discussed here :
