Toggle image visibility – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.10.845.3

@yamiryuuzero: I've only ever been able to get 4 wide Speed Dial, and even setting to 10, I still only get 4.
I'd set it to FVD Speed Dial as the extension I use in Chrome, but it just keeps bringing up reloading Speed Dials, which of course slows you down a tad. -
Lost my vivaldi button also.
But never mind, I found mine again

Toggle images from the keyboard! Yippee - Thank you. I missed this for a long time since OldeOpera days.

"[Speed Dial] Prevent secondary buttons to reorder speed dial (VB-28382)"
THANK YOU!!!! -
@luetage: That confused me as well. I thought setting 10 columns would show 10 tiles wide. Not. The most I can get is 7 when the panel is closed. I'd rather see 10 columns no matter the screen size. I.e. the tiles should shrink.
-
@marekano: The Speed Dial will display the max number of columns it can - if your resolution is wide enough for more than 6, it will display 7, 8, 9, 10, etc, but if not, it will limit itself to a lower number regardless of your settings.
Here's a fun test: take your Vivaldi out of the maximized window, open the Speed Dial and change the window size a few times to see what I mean.
Long story short, the Speed Dial has a static zoom that is NOT separated from the UI, meaning you'll only get as many columns as your resolution (+ UI Zoom settings) allow. I believe they'll change this in the future, but as of now, this is how it rolls.

@andyraisbeck: Refer to my response to @marekano.

To clarify, I find "notify when vivaldi is not running" always checked if I update the snapshot using the whole installer, because at work, under a squid proxy, the autoupdate not only doesn't pop up, but also fails even if manually checking for update, probably due to Vivaldi updater not even trying to use the proxy authentication.
While at home, with no constrained internet access, update not only popped up by itself, but my notify setting remained unchecked as it should. -
Still no IGN video fix. Get it sorted!

Win 7 64 bit, Viv 64
@ian-coog said:@13.beta2 that can happen because there were some vivaldi exe active in memory, make sure after closing vivaldi there are no vivaldi.exe in task manager (ctrl-shift-esc)
MY suggestion ( my processes didn't close either) is use the replacement for task manager Windows called process explorer...a lot more info in MS downloads.
Really confusing since Viv has taskmaster and Windows does also!! -
@Dovelove one can also uncheck "continue running background apps"
chrome://settings/search#running
that for sure helps -
I hope this bug is fixed before the final version, it does not work makes two versions.
It is not possible to open a folder with a nickname by the quick command, when it is set to open automatically. VB-28544 -

This message doesn't appear on FireFox and I can post comments normally, despite not having Java installed on my computer at all.
JavaScript has nothing to do with Java except that it has a similar syntax. Any browser has a JavaScript engine. (save some exceptions of niche browsers for niche applications)

@ian-coog: It's UI zoom. There's already an open bug for it.

@D0J0P I have never understood this [& i know this is one of the hot-button items for you, along with rounded corners]. Having read your post i immediately opened a new tab to see this Brave New World in action. Zap - it opened lightning fast. Pow - it closed/vanished when told to, also lightning fast. Where should i expect to see these putative animations? Do i need a slower cpu or gpu? Can you pls post a video showing me what it is that you see?
And yes:

@Christoph142 That's sooooo binary of you!
-
@zorro Maybe you need Henry Calvin on the case...
-
@an_dz: So, how could I possibly fix this issue? Wait until Vivaldi changes their code on the JavaScript or is there a way for me to fix it manually?
-
Showing the desktop wallpaper still doesn't work in Win 10 x64. Also, the V icon on the top left disappeared but should be a known issue since it's pretty visible.
-
Also, the new tab animations stutter a lot an I have a RX 470.
