Feature requests for 1.9 / 1.10

Add an entry in the context menu to hibernate all background tabs except for pinned tabs.
-
@ZombayDaSilva, hello. For now you can use Vivaldi Hooks. Keyboard shortcuts for SD, added GO buttons, unicode domains decoder, hidden Home button, Search Engines favicons to the left of the searchbar... it's really nice, I use it myself.
-
Disable keyboard shortcuts when any Web Panel is under focus.
-
Scroll big images opened by a direct link by left mouse button dragging.
-
@Maniastern Have you tried middle-click?
-
Hey @Deranox , what the problem? For me, for example, the current option is much more convenient and in indeed, i hate other browsers cause they soon switch to the opened page (when you choose to open in background). However, these are just personal likes/uses, of course. But actually the context menu gives you both choices. I really do not understand the problem...
-
@Marko-Indaco Imagine being on a laptop like me > no middle click available as you're on a touchpad, ctrl + click is uncomfortable and hard to use and you don't use gestures. Opening a number of links in quick succession will be a nightmare and it's something quite a few people do often by clicking the first option. That's the main problem. Making the first option do it since that's what a lot of people are used to clicking these days.
All I'm saying is give us the option, don't make it the default way. Vivaldi is all about the user and having different options is it not ?
-
@Deranox ok, I got it Yeah, could be a useful tip for those who use laptops. Anyway, did you try (if there are) the touchpad options? Usually there's some settings like, for example, right & left click (togheter) simulate the middle click and other useful options.
-
@Pesala, yeah, and it's not the same.
-
Allow extensions to set their popup size with an option on right click (this should fix some extensions popup issues)
-
@Ayespy Thanks, but I use a touchpad and I don't even have a middle click configured.
BTW, this, or something analogous to it, is a problem for me in all of KDE. When I click on a link in an email, I want it to open a tab in Vivaldi, but stay focused on the email.
This is especially useful for emails I get that have a bunch of links where I want to open all the interesting ones before going to look at them.
This is probably not a Vivaldi issue, but if you have any clues, I'd appreciate hearing about them or any suggestions as to the best place to ask about this.
-
Please implement shortcuts for Chrome-extensions. It works fine in GoogleChrome and Opera, but not in Vivaldi. Thank you.
-
@zaibon Cool. I really want to try an Android version. I hope it will be broadcast announced so I hear about it as soon as it's beta.
-
@Maniastern Currently, I don't use the speed dial page for anything. With functionality like this, I would.
-
Bookmarks are someway hard to manage, it would be nice to get these improvements:
- double the bookmark titles limit (now 80 characters) when opening a folder from the bokkmarks bar (i need this for my botany researches because i use internet very much for it and i have longer bookmarks names)
please improve the bookmarks management.
-
Show "Search image on XY" in context menu after riht-click on image with option to set XY as any search engine.
This would allow to fast-track simmilar images and/or image origin.
Highly usefull for fact-checking. -
I have five suggestions of simples features:
- 1 - The tab's thumbnails only capture the first screen. They should be updated at each changing tab or every time you hover over the tab.
- 2 - Add an option to make Panel overlap a page instead of shifting it.
- 3 - Add any possibility of selecting the image preview page and a thumbnail based in text to Speed Dial.
- 4 - Add download speed when downloading files. And likewise also some form of signaling the download is complete.
- 5 - When saving a page as bookmark, the list of bookmark folders must be hierarchical just like Opera (image).

@Dyecks said in Feature requests for 1.9 / 1.10:
2 - Add an option to make Panel overlap a page instead of shifting it.
I absolutely agree with this.

This can be achieved with just a few lines of code in css
#panels-container { position: absolute !important; z-index: 15; height: 100%; }
-
@Dyecks I like #1, but it could cause performance issues on older hardware, so it should be implemented as an option if anything.
