Feature requests for 1.9 / 1.10
-
Yep u r right it would be better to have built-in but add-on is only solution for your problem for now.
-
@pafflick I would like that feature. especially since your documentation of the whole process seem to allow a surprisingly straightforward implementation.
-
Add startup option: Startup with saved session
This request was triggered by the inability of Vivaldi 1.8 and higher to start a new session with pinned tabs from a former session. Opening a saved session that includes pinned tabs and regular tabs works fine, though.
So now my request is the addition of a new startup option, 'startup with saved session'.
This should enable picking one of your saved sessions and automatically opening it in exactly the same configuration as it was saved, not only a set of regular tabs, but also a mix of pinned tabs and regular tabs.
-
MSI package or silent install options (like /qn) for corporate deployment.
-
@Makupa Such addons don't always work good. And when they fail, tabs are lost on browser reload, for example.
If we wanted addons (that fail you and/or stop being updated) we'd use other browsers -
Screenshot function Improvement: take a screenshot of a single page-element
-
Add an option to not open the Vivaldi blog after each update.
Put a link to the blog in the update notification or something.
I do not like it when my browser or an extension or anything else opens a new tab without my explicit approval or initiation of it.
-
Hi @PardusPars , just try it now and I see it ask a sign-up (email address IS NOT mandatory) to complete the installation. So, during the procedure, at the screen where it ask for email, simply close the window. I'm gonna leave now, later i try some function.
Cool idea for Vivaldi devs
Edit:
Ok, I take a look at this addon. The idea is cool, but it's only a note reminder. I thought the addon was able to open link/site as reminder at a given time, but it only open a new tab with the message previous edited... btw how about a reminder that opens a given link. For example open Vivaldi Forum tab, every day at 9:00 am, with login already ? -
Please allow us to bookmark stack or selected tabs to a particular folder, not an auto generated one.
Also please add ability to open bookmark folder as a stack of tabs, and loading only one of the tabs, instead of loading everything in one shot.Explanation:
I am working on different subjects periodically, and organize my tabs accordingly, when done bookmarking them in one folder. When I have new tabs related to some subject, I need either to add each page separably, or bookmark them all, and then go to bookmarks and move them from the auto generated folder to the one I need. -
@Omen_20 As I mentioned, In Neon it popups only the HTML5 videos, like youtube, you can read it help to see how to do that.
In Maxthon (a chinees famous webbrowser), it dose it only for Flash, just move your mouse over the video, and a floating button will appear, that can allow you to download or popup video in a separated window. -
@Omen_20 Old Opera did that, also Maxthon.
-
Please enable Vivaldi to make thumbnails of PDF files. (not sure if this a future or a bug)
I am working with many online research papers, say from ArXiv.org, but because Vivaldi dose note recognize neither PDF file title (it shows file name instead), nor can generate thumbnail of the opened online PDF file, this breaks navigation experience.
-
Sync -Able to sync your history/cache/bookmarks/etc [Pretty sure everyone's been begging for this since the browser came out, haha.]
-
Toggle web panel icons - Able to toggle the web panel icons (just like how we can change the order of extensions, I hope we could change the order of the we panel icons.

A built in Adobe Flash Player [that you can turn on and off whenever you want] I suggest this because many websites require the use of Adobe Flash Player and some people don't want to download AFP on their computers (they'd rather have it built in.)

and what would be the difference according to you?
-
Well, I do play flash games like AQ worlds, elvenar, etc that require Flash so it'd be pretty convenient if flash was built into the browser.
-
Turbo Mode - Good when your wifi is bad (feature similar to Opera's)
