First
-
Almost..First for the first time?!
-
While waiting for Mail and Sync trying the next version of Vivaldi.
-
Going into reading mode doesn't seem to work.
-
@akbalder: Do you use windows 10 creators version by any chance?
-
I hope 2.0 will bring some real features. The only real new feature for 1.9 seems to be notes sorting...
-
@zaibon: No, I use a Windows 7 Pro.
-
@lurtz: next version is 1.10.x, not 2.0.x
not gonna explain why it's right and not wrong.2.0
3.0
4.0
will come with a big feature update or some other huge innovation. Otherwise those numbers will follow as 1.9,1.10,1.11,1.12… -
@akbalder: what page? It depends entirely on the content of the page
-
@ahoj1234: Ok, then probably no big new features
-
@akbalder: I can confirm this problem on Windows 10 (w. creators update). However, this only applies to activating the reader mode from the address bar icon, activating it from the page action menu does work for me.
-
@Akbalder
Works over here with viv 1.9.818.29 32bit || win 7 64bit.
I tested the following sites:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/apr/25/trump-summons-entire-senate-to-white-house-briefing-on-north-korea
http://www.ingenieur.de/Branchen/Luft-Raumfahrt/Chinas-erster-Raumfrachter-erfolgreich-an-Raumstation-angedockt
https://www.wired.com/2017/04/tinder-like-app-lets-iranians-swipe-past-election-censorship/Does it work for you on those?
EDIT: Just to make this clear I used the button in the address bar not a shortcut
-
@zaibon: works for me on all of those pages, yes!
-
@gwen-dragon: cannot reproduce there.
-
@knoelli: I cannot reproduce this on Windows 10. Try disabling any extensions and re-enable one by one.
-
@ruario: All the links above fail when I use the button in the adress bar. It works when i use the reading mode from the page action.
-
@ruario: I just tried with all extensions disabled (I have only 2 installed so no big deal ) but that doesn't make a change.
To sort things out a bit, what works is the detection whether a page can be viewed in reader mode or not - i.e. the reader mode icon is shown on the address bar for "compatible" pages. If clicked on the icon, it renders as activated as does the page action icon "< >" at the bottom of the screen. However, in the list of activated page actions there is none selected. If I select reader mode from the page actions list, reader mode is activated but the address bar icon is rendered as if reader mode was disabled.
