Mouse Gesture opens links from closed Page

Mouse Gesture opens links from closed tab.
Happens in all Versions (at least since 1.4) reproducible and annoys me as hell.To reproduce:
Open Webpage with some text. e.g. https://vivaldi.com/features/
Open another webpage (Ctrl+T) with links e.g. amazon.com
wait a couple of seconds and/or scroll up-down- Close the Amazon tab using Mouse Gesture [RightClick + Down-right]
- open a new tab on the now visible Vivaldi Page using mouse Gesture [RightClick + down]
- This will open a link of the amazon page if you do the gesture at a position where a link of the closed (amazon) page was.
Can you confirm that?

Jep, this is reproduceable but also already known (e.g. here)
As far as I know there is no workaround or fix for this yet -
Yes, this has been discussed quite recently and I'm glad that I somehow haven't ever accustomed to the "New tab" mouse gesture (through all these years since I started using Opera), while some other gestures (like the one for closing the tab) I use all the time...

Great to know i am not alone.
If i remember correctly there was a fix for something that sounds similar ages ago in some snapshot (1.3.X?) but it never fully fixed (or reintroduced it later).Would really apreciate a fix thou, as i tned to use the open new page gesture all the time.

I wonder if a quick work-around would be to de-couple the new tab gesture from opening a link in a new tab (over a link).
I seem to be able to reproduce this issue if I close a tab with my mouse over a link, then quickly make the new tab gesture. Almost as if the page that was just closed is no longer visible, but still receiving input.
To test, try making the close tab gesture so that your gesture ends with the mouse over a link (it's easy if you make the close gesture very slowly and then release when you're over a link). Then right after, make the Open a new tab gesture. Every time I get the link loaded from the recently closed page instead of a new blank tab.

@ugly You can force this even more easier when you perform the mouse gesture over a big ad banner. So you don't have to be too precise - you only need to make sure that you stay within the banner / logo / whatever.

Yeah, that works much better. And, unfortunately, those types of ad banners are usually the type of thing you don't want to be opening.

Should have been fixed with recent snapshpts but is still present with 1.9.811.13 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit)

Unfortunatley i can.
Open some page e.g. vivaldi.net
Open Amazon (at the moment they have a big Samsung banner on top)
Close amazon tab with mouse gesture Right Click + down-right (i did this "on banner")
Do a "New Page" - Gesture (Right Click + down) on the vivaldi site where the amazon banner was (but no link on vivaldi is) -> It Will open the link from amazon.
(Tested on W7 + latest Snapshot) -
Not exactly tested which links it opend - I would expect an empty page not a link opened from the closed page.
Bugs my for ages -
