Teehee. Nicely noticed. Up until i read your post, my intended meaning had been Oh my Zeus, but now i've taken an upgrade… Oh my Zarquon!! I dunno how i'd overlooked that. I trust you noticed my earlier reference to the DA source material, above? Nice to know there's at least one more fan here.

Annnnnd, just like as soon as it's arrived Cursor Hide is broken on Mac. Occasionally when going fullscreen it will show the "Press Escape to Exit Fullscreen" message, but it won't actually do what it's supposed to.
-
Well, sorry but this cannot be a generic / universal problem, as my own experience with V is excellent reliability playing YT videos, in full screen & non full screen.

Sounds like the chromium engine doesn't like your video card. You might have to disable hardware acceleration, or override the hardware blacklist.

Still having crashes when I'm prompted to allow notifications
-
Hasn't happened here in ages. What sort of system are you on? Have you tried resetting your profile?

Windows 8.1 x64
You mean starting over with a clean install? Not looking forward to doing that

Thank you for the preview images generation improvements, it's not working perfectly yet, but much much better!

Posted a solution if anyone gets "Update error!"

As I said, this only happens on my desktop configuration. On my laptop it works fine. I don't think I implied (or meant to imply) that this is a universal problem.
-
Strange thing is, this isn't some unconventional GPU. On the contrary it's a relatively popular model, Nvidia 960 GTX. The issue started happening a couple of chomium engine updates back.
-
No your original post didn't, but your subsidiary post kinda sorta did, a bit… by stating "like an engine issue as it does happen with chrome as well", which if true would imply some kind of generic flaw, wouldn't it? FWIW, V SS YT vids work fine on my Tower AND Lappy, in both full & not full screens.
-
I said that to point out that it probably isn't something Vivaldi devs can do much about. And the engine issue is caused by, what it looks like, really specific configurations. Apart from iAN CooG (whose I'm not entirely convinced is the same issue) I haven't seen anyone else experience this so it seems that it's a very isolated one.
But I can see how one could understand the statement otherwise. I should have provided more context but didn't really think it was required at the time since I already did in the aforementioned bug report.

Thanks. I marked it [Resolved] so that folks know to look there for a solution if they have the problem.

No. It's where you rename your profile folder, check to make sure all is working right, then move your vital data from the old folder to the new. You have to re-do settings and extensions, but well worth it if it removes the corrupted data in your profile and solves your problem (which will never go away or be fixed if there's bad or malformed data in your profile).

As nearly as I can tell, it doesn't seem to matter how popular or common your GPU is. Chrome/Chromium can screw them up.
