Oh, I'm disappointed we're still on Joomla for the blog, I thought you were going to change to WordPress, it has been confirmed by a Vivaldi rep some weeks ago.
I have many issues with Joomla, I have to re-login here every single time I close the browser (only happens with this blog), edits are unreliable, votes are too slow, replies are quite unreliable too (example: https://vivaldi.net/en-US/teamblog/168-a-new-snapshot-and-new-forums-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-1-5-654-3#!/ccomment-comment=23538 – I clicked on "Reply" of the parent post).

Am really getting annoyed now. Am still blocked with same msg even on alternative VPN IP, AND even if i close VPN & just use my ISP, "naked". My tests imply the fault is not with ISP [else VPN should have worked], & not VPN [else ISP should have worked]. Exasperated.

Two regressions from 1.4:
1. The Vivaldi button at the top left of the window does not activate when the mouse snaps to the top left corner.
2. In the Search bar, click the x beside previous search entries doesn't delete them. -

The system logged you out so you could log in and log out properly

I wish, I have logged out, but I appear still logged in (infact I'm still posting here) and yet i can't "sign out" anymore. Sum of this update: blog bugs and forum bugs. Well done!

The reason is that there is another menu entry in that menu which also starts with 'S'. So the menu logic does not know which one the user wants to activate. I guess we can work around that by assigning an underscored letter, but I am not sure if we want to do that right now.

Deleted all the vivaldi.net cookies, now at least log out really works,on the other hand my avatar continues to disappear even if i reset it the profile.

Can I have two different Vivaldi installations (of course in different locations) with completely different profiles (defaults) - i.e. two completely separate installations with no connection between them? I have problems with my installation and want to start from scratch a new one, but I need to look at the settings & bookmarks of the old installation.

Why not? This wasn't an issue at all a few snapshots ago, and every browser behaves this way. Even with the other 's' option for menu entry, other browsers still searched with the main search engine on pressing 's', just like Vivaldi did until a few snapshots ago.

There are a few things you can try. But the instructions would depend on your operating system. This blog is probably not the best place to ask, especially since a new snapshot has been added and most people won't look at this blog again.
Try asking this question on the fancy new Vivaldi forums.
