Reader view access options - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.5.644.7

Too bad, still no decent support for HTTP referer header -> VB-18362/VB-11034

I can live with 100% UI Zoom if we have some way to scale the speed dial page, and if the text size in bookmarks and tab titles respected my Windows text scaling. Setting 90% UI Zoom solves the speed dial problem so that I can get 6 columns by 3 rows again, but now text is too small to read.

With UI Zoom back to 115% as it used to be, the text is fine, but the speed dial has only 4 columns. -
Switching reader view via quick commands steals the focus. I use quick commands as I want to keep hands on the keyboard. After switching, I read the page and want to scroll down but pressing page down does nothing. Focus seems to be somewhere else.

Confirmed and doesn't prefix www. either. Vivaldi x64, Win 7

Thanks Ruari. I agree with you that "I don't agree that V is completely unusable". However, in self-defence, i made no such blanket statement; i specifically qualified it… "V is completely unusable … with UI < 100%".
You have to have UI zoom enabled –> yep, i do!
and enough expanded bookmarks to cause a scroll bar. –> yep, i do! [but note, it's ditto with [i]Notes]
It also requires that you use the bookmarks panel to access your bookmarks –> yep, i do!Sorry about my silly Scale in lieu of Zoom; i don't know why i wrote that.

Issue has been confirmed in VB-22477, look for it in future snapshots

Please feel my second cup of coffe dedicated to yourself. Thanks for the explanation.

Yeah, I don't like the look of it now in the non-hover state. I understand the reason for the change, but it doesn't look as nice now.
Also, I think the change only slightly helps with discoverability. I'd prefer it said "Menu" on it like Opera now does or use the somewhat-standard 3 lines or 3 dots. Of course, with the 3 lines/dots, you lose the logo.
In short, I think more experimentation is needed to get this right.

And just to be sure, the version of Chrome is 54, right ?
You can force activate the GPU for some feature in the flags. All in all, I have no idea why it behave differently. Don't hesitate to file a bug about that -
A quick heads up: I'm getting (almost always) reproducible crashes when searching large PDF documents. It happens after some successful searches and using F3 to next, then pressing Ctrl+F again and overtyping a couple of characters. No warnings or notification of crash on exit/restart. Vivaldi x64, Win 7

Interestingly, now I found that if set Mobile view YouTube on Web panel, so when you close the Web panel video stops playing. But with the desktop version, the video plays normally and further in the background.

Whissh.. that just went over my head. Didn't follow that exchange at all…..
-
Yes the Chrome is on version 54.
i only updated Vivaldi without changing anything, and previously worked fine.. Forgot to mention that same behavior is happening on a completely different pc, at my work! while a colleague says it keeps working as before..
Now for the time being i turned to Chrome again after quite some months having Vivaldi as my main browser..
How do i file a bug? -
I think sync would most likely have to come out for the desktop version of the browser before going on Android. But I agree, I'm tired of browser hopping on Android because I want one great universal solution that will also sync with my desktop browser seamlessly.

[Win 10 64 bit, Vivaldi 1.5.644.7 32 bit]
Hi, thank you for removing the reappearing disappearing cursor bug. Too late for my girlfriend though. She uninstalled Vivaldi and now uses MS Edge and I'm not going to stop her…
Anyway, some issues I have with the latest SS:- entering numbers in an element with type="datetime-local" results in switching to other tabs.
- duplicating a tab with a pdf brings me a new empty tab with the correct URL in the URL-field. Pressing 'reload' or [F5] does nothing.
- I cannot rely on mouse gestures. When issuing "close window" fast (down-right) sometimes windows get closed and sometimes new tabs are opened (have been using Opera since 2001. I know how to do 'em).
Oh and I know you know there are many zoom related bugs still present in Vivaldi.
Thanks for your time.

I had a crash when watching a embedded Vimeo video on a site. I changed the resolution from SD to HD, Viv freezed for an instant and crashed apparently, because it still stayed active as a multiple processes on Process Explorer, to within some seconds, finally close for real.
Tried to repeat a couple of times to confirm, Viv freezed again but those times didn't crash. Weird.
Ah, and the tab bar stretching thing is still here - with a more exaggerated stretching now - but with no crashes so far.
Win10 x64, Viv x64.

This very page goes blank on Reader View

To force HWA/GPU, you can deactivate the blacklist in the flags, even if that's not a long term solution
