Engine update - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.5.638.3

I agree:
- I appreciate the "search with" feature
- I have the same drag and drop bookmark problem with Win10 32bit here
-
Hell yeah!
-
Yeah for the "Search with" feature!
The regression with saving bookmarks by dragging URLs/Tab is known as VB-22040. I am with you in the hope it will get fixed for 1.5 stable.

Thanks for the feedback on the drag'n'drop of tabs!
Yes, drop on empty tab bar yet remains to be fixed.
I am not sure what you mean by the second issue. Moving a tab on the view area of its own window opens it in a new window. Also moving on tab bar in position earlier then last was successful for me.Keep on testing and let us know on the feedback as there should be more fixes to drag'n'drop of tabs coming with further snapshots. Thanks!

What does Chromium 54 have as an update that is really a lot better to use than Chromium 53? I don't notice any difference. I'm reading up on the changes, and it kind of seems like a boring update, other than the fact that HTML5 is going to be pushed more than Flash, but I don't use Flash on Vivaldi anyway. At least FireFox/Gecko's updates are handling and improving some of the weaknesses it has. This isn't a criticism of Vivaldi, just Chromium/Blink. It would be great if once the team is big enough, it could contribute to making Chromium much better.
I'm also reading on what Chromium 55 is going to bring to the table, which sounds much more exciting than version 54. http://www.forbes.com/sites/amitchowdhry/2016/10/13/google-chrome-55/#25b0be727a15

"Add basic "Search with…" context menu (VB-22084)" Love It!
-
I am not experiencing the scaling issue on my secondary desktop (W10 64bit V 32bit) but to be safe won't put it on my main machine till others report the issue as non-existent. Thank you as always for the snapshot.

What does Chromium 54 have as an update that is really a lot better to use than Chromium 53?
For one thing, a bunch of security fixes. Improvements to HTML5 compliance, resource consumption and rendering performance optimizations, and general bug fixes are others.
Here's a link to the changelog:
https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+log/53.0.2785.143..54.0.2840.59?pretty=fuller&n=10000Boring? Sure. Necessary? Absolutely! Whether it's truly better or not (initially, at least) depends on the overall quality of the release. (For those that don't remember, Google issued three additional bug-fix releases in the first two weeks following the release of Chromium 53.)

Are there any plans to decouple the mouse gestures for "New Tab" from "Open Link in New Tab" and "Clone Tab in Background" from "Open Link in Background Tab"?
I already have the middle-click button to open links in new tabs; I don't need a gesture for it. It is really frustrating to accidentally open a link whenever I intended to open a new tab.

Confirmed.

Very blurry. Win7 Pro X64, resolution 3440x1440, 125% system dpi scaling, GTX 970, driver version 368.81. Dropping the system dpi scaling to 100% eliminates blur, but strains my eyesight.
-
I'd love to see this fixed. To me, it is the biggest annoyance with mouse gestures.
-
Okay, so it's much better than I thought. Thanks! Not as boring as the articles I read online showed, as they didn't show much at all. Version 55 is supposed to dramatically decrease memory usage and battery drain, which itself with the fixes and improvements of version 54 should be pretty exciting!

radiat-r, thank you for the screenshot you posted!
Now that I have an example of what kind of blurry text people have been talking about I can tell that there is nothing wrong with my system, I just need to find my glasses to fix the blurry text.
Someone once mentioned replacing the software for this site so every single edit doesn't echo to anyone that's Subscribed to the page. (sigh)
Here's a Screencap of my screen with Vivaldi open and showing radiat-r's blurry screencap:-
Now I'll go see what YouTube does with Vivaldi's new engine and go for a spin around the 'net; should be a barrel of laughs trying to find out if anything else besides the caret disappears from Vivaldi if I dare to look at another application. If anything turns up, or rather if anything does not turn up I'll file a bug report.
Windows 10 Pro x64 v1607 build 4393.321

Very clear now that Vivaldi is for Windows, Linux and Mac OS is step-child. Too bad, I was liking Vivaldi but don't take kindly too being treated as a step-child
