The most customizable browser is now the most colorful: Vivaldi version 1.3 debuts with custom themes, enhanced privacy and much more

The update did not work well, first all my previous dark theme was changed into some, in my opinion ugly looking, bright default theme. But worst of all I cannot get the theme back the way it was and the way I like:
Goal: Dark theme with everything dark except the active tab (tabs are on right).
In the theme editor (which is kind of hidden btw) I have unchecked 'accent color from active page' and also unchecked 'apply accent color to window'. However the window is being displayed in the accent color (brightly red), tabs are being displayed as desired dark with only the active tab in accent color. Strangely if I check 'apply accent color to window' the window title bar goes dark, but the whole tab bar lights up bright red in its accent color. -
Very nice update, loving the work and trying to get my colleagues and friends to use it as well (most of them are Apple people so very hard to convince to use something not made by Apple). In any case, something went a little bit in the wrong direction for my liking. Check this: http://i.imgur.com/fUDNrWQ.png
The accent colour NEVER used to be so bright! (I'm talking about the green, red is fine) If there was a too bright colour - it got dialed down. I can't look at these pages any more because it's just too much (and very bright greens are so ugly..). The second thing I noticed is that the tab titles colour is now also brighter. It looks so out of place (the white is now full on white, it used to be a little darker). The last thing is that images used to be centered on a page when looking at the actual source, example: https://vivaldi.net/templates/vivteamblog/img/[email protected] is located in the upper left corner and it's bugging me.
Again - I still love the work you're all doing. But stop making colour changes
-
Personal taste. I for one like those intense colors - even on http://www.chatvongesternnacht.de/ (That is green!)
-
Being worked on continuously.
-
I really dislike the colour bright green
It's a bit weird that this was just changed without an option to use the old settings though.

Nice, but I think it would be good to us translators informed a little early before the final version. Since I'm personally more of the issued last snapshot made ββsome changes in the translation. They did not get into the final version. So for all translators of you please timely information about changes and frequent updating of translation resources. If you create any repair version of the current 1.3 version, because of a serious error not forget to update the translation resources. thanks
BTW: I am full of expectations for the new Snapshot Version 1.4

After I update to v1.3 all my speeddial pages and all the speeddial thumb nail disapeared.
Is there a workaround to get them back ? -
The theming mechanism in 1.3 is just fundamentally different from what was used before. There's no easy switch to use one or the other.

General
- In the search box drop down menu, the history cannot be deleted. If the name is long, the "x" is not shown. In the url box drop down menu, if you delete one, the whole drop down box get deleted, until you click on the arrow in the search box.
- The theme changing is alright, but there is no way to change the font contrast on the tabs, on the web page etc. If you open Firefox, you'd see what I mean. Fonts look somewhat fuzzy. After sometime, my eyes get tired.
- Need to know how to stop the tab reloading itself, if unopened for a while. This is pretty troublesome at work.
Windows 10
- Upgrading to 1.3 stable release didn't delete the old installed folder (1.3.551.28) from the /AppData/Local/Vivaldi/Application folder, the User Data had grown up to 364MB!
That 1.3.551.28 folder was 187MB, and the new 1.3.551.30 folder is 304MB. All told, the Vivaldi folder is 859MB. Deleted the old 1.3.551.28 folder as an unnecessary one for further use of Vivaldi 1.3.
It would be nice, if you could find a way to stop growing the User Data folder to this monstrous size. Or, when installing the final release (or any snapshot) it should not add to the User Data the same stuff again and again.
I haven't added any extensions, any change of themes, any bookmarks than the first 2 clicks when installing Vivaldi, as I'd waited for the stable release. Also, you should find a way to keep the Application folder near to 175-187MB. For comparison, Firefox with its profiles is 137.4MB. The downloaded vivaldi exe file is 37MB, and the extracted one is 146MB. This is the stand-alone Vivaldi 1.3 stable anyway. So, why is the installed folder 1.3.551.30 had grown to 302MB is a mystery, at least for me.
Linux
You say, "Linux is an important platform for us." And, I am 100% sure of that. The installed Vivaldi 1.3 stable is 175MB and the Vivaldi file in the .config is just 14.8MB, so together the whole Vivaldi installation takes up ~190MB. The config folder in Linux won't grow madly as the User Data folder in Windows 10.Here too, Vivaldi 1.3 can be used as a stand-alone app folder or and also as a self-contained app (67MB)

If font family is sans-serif, font-weight (bold) has no effect. This is visible for example on feedly. (Tested on my Ubuntu-machine)
-
if you mean they've disappeared completely, try looking for the folder in your bookmarks, right click and 'use as speed dial'.
If it's just the thumbnails gone, try pressing F5 on the speed dial page. -
I noticed when i add a custom background image on the start page it significantly lags up the UI. It goes from instantly opening a new tab to taking up to 1-2 seconds.
-
The folder disapeared. I went to the trash can. I recovered the speed dial.

Awesome release, thanks Vivaldi team !
I found a site that just doesn't show up: https://www.epicgames.com/paragon/. Works in Firefox.
-
Thank you so much.
Now most wanted feature for me is: Synchronize Bookmarks, Search engines etc. across all my many vivaldi installations (both Linux and Win)
-
Great stuff!
-
What do you mean "does not show up" ? Because me and reload the page normally shows all exactly the same as for Firefox. So what exactly is the problem?
-
Please bring back the old Dark theme (the one in version 1.2.490.43)- you may rename it but please bring it back! The new Dark theme is terrible for me. It forced me to go back to Vivaldi 1.2.490.43.

When you log into a web page like this (or to gmail) and had not given permission for the web page to remember you, you login should not be there, if you put the browser off, but in Vivaldi, I'm still logged in after I put the browser off and come back to the computer. The computer is on, but the Vivaldi is off. And, when I restart Vivaldi, I'm still logged into the web pages. Isn't this a security problem, at least for the users?
To test this, I put the installed Vivaldi 1.3 off, left the computer on, and then started another instance of Vivaldi 1.3 (the non-installed stand alone one), all the web pages that were opened opened up, and I am logged in to all those web pages as I was before.
Also, I need to know how to stop the tab reloading itself, if unopened for a while. This is pretty troublesome at work.

I mean, it just doesn't show up: http://imgur.com/a/1nvEh. Reloading doesn't help (even with CTRL+F5).
