You can use Alt+Shift+Enter to open link in background tab.
But I agree Shift+Enter and Ctrl+Enter for opening in foreground/background would be in line with other shortcuts and more intuitive. So I think it needs to be looked into. -
Nah, I guess it'll probably take some more snapshots before you'll see it. Just wanted to spoil you a bit
-
I agree with you.
The tab bar in the Chrome style is pretty much unusable for me, tab groups are no solution for that.
And I think the adress bar should return better suggestions, but I can understand that optimizing this is pretty time extensive and won't come right now.

The "beauty pimping" features and some of the lighter features are made mostly by us designers. We have seasoned developers working on the things under the hood. The reason you see some of these things first is because they're quicker to build. So hang in there.

More refinements to the corner rounding is coming, but per-item settings is not planned.

Hi guys,
I have a suggestion about the theme picker when starting Vivaldi for the first time ever. Allow the choice of Light and Dark themes both with and without inherited accent.
Also, add a hint of the ability to add custom themes (so a first time user will become aware of the possiblity.) at first startup. It can be a button or simply a sentence.
edit: Fade foreground colours (OFF/ON) when out of focus not working for me. Foreground always fades when out of focus. This snaphot, win7 x64.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work, when you have the Tabs placed on the side of the window. Currently in that mode you have no way to tell if a tab is pinned or not. I've created a bug for that issue (VB-19095)
-
No this is only suggestion. Money goes from https://www.google.com/search?q=%s or browser info. But I think that Vivaldi does not have a contract with Google. Only with Bing and DuckDuckgo.com
-
Depends on the website
-
Thanks!
Looks like you broke chrome://dummystartpage
It used to open the Speed Dial and i had binded that to my Home button. But now it just gives me "This site can’t be reached" ERR_INVALID_URL.
Is there some other URL i can use to open the Speed Dial? Because right now my Home button is sort of useless -
I would be happy if it just worked for Google.

Use
vivaldi://startpage ```instead.

Thank you for your replies! Now I don't feel so lonely anymore.
It's interesting to hear that this is an engine problem; it look like a user interface thing. So I guess we'll have to wait for Blink updates.
-
I can't find this rounding feature about which so much has been written. Where is it?
-
Yay for update. Thank you.
Can someone tell me why sometimes the Vivaldi processes still run in the background when exited? And why sometimes it opens not Maximized? This has been happening for all the versions, but it only happens sometimes. Those two problems also happen separately.
Still hoping for:
- Disabling Auto-Check for Updates
- on Speed Dials
Much love.

Brilliant - many thanks T_T08i!

Aw man that's too bad, but good to hear on the corner rounding. I round my corners to 4px, and it looks like the tabs are less rounded than that compared to last snapshot's. 4px on tabs looks like 2-3px or something, so some accuracy improvements on that would be needed.
I also noticed that the x close button is only the wrong color if you have accent color on windows turned on. Try it and see.

I usually work with a new window for a new topic (with multiple tabs in each window), instead of tab stacking.
But when I´m not doing this, using the "open tab next to active option" roughly keeps the tabs about one topic more left and the others more right. Do you use this?
Did you try ctrl+click some tabs and move them altogether manually to order them to one side?
If there was an option for a multi row bar, maybe the tabs could be also (manually) moved or be opened next to the active tab in lower/upper row.
Probably because of these alternatives I never used / liked my multi row ff add-on, but others might want to have this option.
