Snapshot 1.2.470.11 - Editable Gestures
-
I think trails may help me learn to draw the gestures more accurately over time.
-
Deleting bookmark works fine here: W10 64bit
-
Search suggestions finally showing up ! Same engines for me…
-
Great improvements in this build ! Getting there…
-
30 Mbps wow…. FREE USA is mostly slow I have no problems at 3 MBps. Any reason there would be a "man in the middle" on your connection?
I don't know. I have the same problem with another ISP too. So yes, maybe the problem is somewhere in the middle of me and Vivaldi server.
-
It sometimes takes a long pause to load a page. It appears like the browser has froze, but isn't or that it isn't doing anytying. Same thing happened on old Opera.
-
I also noticed this quite often now with the latest snapshot. It was never much of a problem before.
-
Me, myself and I want, need ….
Apparently the only thing you need is a dedicated email-client anyway.
-
Note also the options in the Privacy section of that same settings screen, relating to suggestions:
- Enable Search Suggestions in Address Field
- Enable Search Suggestions in Search Field
If only these two are disabled, search suggestions will go away but you still get the drop-down for local things like bookmarks, recently visited URLs, etc.
Incidentally, the same two options are mirrored in the Search section of settings.
-
kisunssi is right.
What you are looking for is to deactivate the option "Drop-down enabled" under Address Bar options, and to disable search suggestions under Privacy.
It is what I do since I share the same viewpoint as you.
-
Confirmed.
I have also noticed that quite often Vivaldi won't capture the first mouse click, and you have to click again. Most often I see it on the Bookmark Bar, but it happens everywhere (on any page with a clickable item)

I have search field hidden since I installed Vivaldi (32bit @ W10 64bit) several months ago and it's OK for me too.
But I didn't try to reenable it and disable again. I don't want to break it. -
New bug found, not sure if starting from this build or one previous.
When you have more bookmakrs on bookmakr bar that are possible to show, they are hidden in menu with two arrows. Thats ok, but clicking on bookmakrs under that arrow have no action, no page is opened.
-
Yep! Like the Quick Commands feature/bug that used to exist where nicknames would auto-load! It doesn't appear in the change log though. So happy it's back!
-
Yes. The panel, like the bar, wastes space or I need to click multiple times to get it and then UN-get it. O12 has a bit where hovering in the URL pops up a BOOKMARKS button that can be clicked once to get the top listing. Dwelling on an entry opens any sub-menus and that can be repeated, and a second click opens the selected bookmark (or set of them!) and then that happens, the bookmarks list collapses down out of the way again. No screen space taken up constantly. It shows up when desired, goes away when the job is done. It's the one thing (alright, besides email - but that's a whole 'nother program, really and I quite understand it will come in due time) that I miss in Vivaldi.
-
Ditto. In O12 the page was immediately active (would receive gesture input), I think this was part of Presto's magic because none of the other browsers were so responsive (you could mouse gesture back and forth through history without any lag whatsoever). Also, SD loaded instantly, but in Vivaldi it's still a bit slow. One of my favourite things about Presto though was with page loading: it wouldn't jump around while still loading but would keep focused where you were scrolled to, so you could actually start reading before the page had finished loading! This would be great now with large banner ads opening at the tops of webpages…
-
Confirmed on win 10 x64, however it still works in Quick Commands which I usually use for searching in a new page.
-
Thanks for listening to our requests. This is good improvement.
-
One funny thing: I didn't have the "Allow Gestures" checkbox checked, but gestures already worked anyway. However, after checking and unchecking the checkbox, Vivaldi now seems to be obeying the checkbox.
-
When using the search field I notice a big delay from when I hit enter and the page starts loading.
