Snapshot 1.2.470.11 - Editable Gestures
-
Confirmed. This was fixed a few snapshots ago so this appears to be a regression.
Repro steps:
- In settings/Privacy, uncheck the Enable Search in Address Field option.
- Open a new tab and type "g test" in the address bar then press Enter.
In the previous snapshot, this used to search using the specified nickname search engine.
Now, it fails to search even though the search engine icon is displayed whilst typing.

That little film is great - except it goes too fast for my aged brain… A wee bit slower would be helpful for us oldies and wouldn't hold you youngsters up more than a few seconds. Even better:why not have a speed control slider?

Good work Vivaldi team ! Thanks.

You have a serious bug with your UI if you move for example bar elements to the bottom or to the right/left:
VB-17229
You can recreate that if you move the bars to the bottom, go to a page where you have to scroll very long to reach the bottom like http://otter-browser.org/ and you see during scrolling some strange white rendering artifact lines.
They only do not appear with the default UI configuration. Happens not with all graphic cards, seems to be at random, some ATI and NVIDIA seem to work, but in many cases, that bug appears to happen.

"At most 20 bookmarks can be opened at the same time (VB-12838)"
THANK YOU
This was literally the only thing that stopped me from switching permanently to Vivaldi.
Now if there was a way to hide the speed dial folder from the bookmark side panel, that'd be great. -
This was one of the things I was most hoping for, so thank you, but at least on mac, both Alt+Shift+Enter and Alt+Enter open in a new active tab rather than background tab. I can't figure out how to open in a background tab.
Thanks for all your hard work!

"Love to see those updates which bring features just like the old opera"
As well, though I still long for the better bookmark handling. Oh sure, V does a lot very well with it, but V is horribly screen (and click) inefficient when it comes to actually using a bookmark. O was just go to URL area, click bookmarks, hover to what I want, click – and all the stuff taking up screen space for bookmarks falls right back away and I get a window/tab of nothing but content. No need to shuffle and from a column eating a chunk of screen estate.

Sorry, didn't mean that to be a reply to you

Updated: this has been submitted as VB17185.

I think you have 'Open settings in a tab'' and dark theme enabled.
Editing gesture with RMB is bugged then. -
We are experimenting with single-click activated bookmarks in Bookmark panel.
Yes.
-
It would be messy to use previous/next… "previous" tabs from what? It sounds more like a time meaning… more like "older tabs" than position matter. Which is wrong.
Though, I'm not native English speaker. But for sure I would have problems with our local translations thus it would raise another issue -
Vivaldi allows you to turn off the annoying auto-dropdown feature. In opera, you had to do it from opera:config (or the ini directly).
-
You can currently set the number of columns. How could you set the number of rows, that would mean you were fixing the total number of dials. You should be able to set the number of columns and the zoom level.

excessively accesses HDDs?, stays in the memory accessing HDDs even after I close the program. I have to manually close it the task manager. I think it started with version 1.1

greenenemy, I already submitted this earlier this week as VB-17157. I linked your issue as a duplicate of mine on the bugtracker.
