Minor update to Vivaldi 1.1
-
Send a mail to medium.com to ask for Vivaldi support, this isn't a Vivaldi issue.

It will show only if you are on the Stable update stream. My Stable updated. My Snapshot didn't.
-
Can I install both the snapshot version and the stable one on my PC? The stable v.1.1 has seen its 2nd update, while the snapshot's still at v.1.1.453.45. It doesn't look quite normal that a dev. version is left behind a stable one.
-
The problem with the panel blinking didn't happen about 10-12 snapshots ago, before Stable 1.0. So I don't know why it's come up just now, and how it can be a RAM issue. The address bar thing was always fluctuating, but it's better in this snapshot.

History Eraser extensions or Click & Clean do not work. Please be grateful if they can fix it. I'm using Vivaldi 1.1.453.52 (Stable channel) (64-bit) in Windows 7 and Linux extensions do not work.
-
They should also be able to be hidden in an accessible menu like chrome. This is one of the reasons I don't use vivaldi as my main browser yet. If you use a lot of extensions it looks cluttered.

You must be new! I'm no authority but where I had heard this below was and a very knowledgeable one. As many have said before be patient I could hear you if you lost all your Emails or corrupted them.
So again FYI:
Saw a program on how MUCH HARDER it is to design a mail program than a browser because you aren't connected to a NETWORK of people in a browser ( essentially point to point) where mail you are connected to many at the same time in mail which is more complicated. If it CORRECTLY imports mail from many Email clients it will be a BIG development also.

Hi, just once again asking for download speed and ETA of downloads thanks. Good job tho love Vivaldi.
-
I have yet to update on Windows, but will in a sec. Just installed Ubuntu 16.04 LTS in virtual, and this is the Vivaldi version downloaded 64-bit: 1.1.453.52-1.amd64.deb. It would not install there. Nor will the 32-bit version. Has this been addressed yet? I am doing my test/development/geekplay there; thx.

Win 7,64 Bit : Viv Was 64 NOW 32 Bit
Thanks, this was a confusing update for me, and it looks like some others also.
I was on 64 bit and 453.45 ver. AFTER I read this Ayespy I went to Vivaldi.com and downloaded what showed on the download page, the download showed 453.52.
Figured all is correct, closed out Vivaldi (went through this process TWICE) each time I installed it it stayed on 453.45, I even re-booted between those times.NEVER got it to install the regular way so I rebooted in Safe mode with services, installed Vivaldi and it went to 453.52 ONLY IT CHANGED IT TO 32 bit mode. Rebooted all's well I guess.
I guess the Stable didn't sense the 64 bit version or there is none, I didn't know it could regress to 32, does't bother me just FYI.

Thanks…I'm no expert but I read a LOT! I surmise that lower numbers are faster?
FYI:
From what all I've read 64 bit just handles the memory more efficiently and transfers the data better in the chip. Far more gain in over 4 Gig of memory, if you want and I find great article on it I could send or post link in forum. Also offers better security, from all I've read from tech manuals. -
Win7 64 bit, Viv 64 bit AND 32 bit
No problem here soundcloud comes in great this 453.45 AND 453.52.
-
Seems really fast here too on 2 Core machine.
-
I'm sure they will get to it just as OTHERS have said. Most feel this isn't a BIG issue when they have MUCH bigger fish to fry.
PATIENCE we are NOT 3 year old children there's a time and place. I agree it would be handy just NOT essential to all that many if the browser works well and is stable, priorities. -
Okay, page hanging is still an issue. It just started happening now.
-
Okay, page hanging just started happening now. It's happening from time to time still, and may increase over time again.
-
Higher numbers are faster.
-
It may not be a "big" issue, but it is an extremely noticable one (guaranteed to be witnessed by everyone using Vivaldi at one point or another). Also, probably extremely easy to fix. So why shouldn't it be repaired sooner rather than later?
-
There are a couple hundred or so bugs and incomplete features ahead of it in line, could be one reason why. And I know people are prone to assume that others share their point of view and priorities but, just so you know, I've been using Vivaldi for 16 months, most of that time as my default browser, and have never missed, could care less about, download speed and "time remaining" notations. Likewise, among the several tens of thousands of persons commenting on the forums, only a very few bring it up. That even a few people bring it up may cause the developers to look at it, but then again, their hands may be too full with other stuff.
