No time to rest. Vivaldi 1.1 is here with enhanced tab handling, better hibernation and more!

Win 7 64, Viv 64
Ditto, not here either very fast and no link trouble.

Saw a program on how MUCH HARDER it is to design a mail program than a browser because you aren't connected to a NETWORK of people in a browser ( essentially point to point) where mail you are connected to many at the same time which is more complicated.
I trust the program I was listening to and to me it makes sense, if so be patient. Also people would really go berserk if it lost mail or corrupted it.
PS: Hate to tell you this you ARE beating a dead horse….I'd like it also ( loved integrated mail in Opera, miss it GREATLY! ) BUT I don't mention it EVERY snapshot. Sorry.

it is written 1.1.453.47 (Stable channel) (64-bit) is this fine or problematic or is not final
-
It's weird. One one PC I don't experience the page hangs even with 1.1. Pages just load. Then on the other PC the pages hang. The hanger PC has an AMD processor and the other that doesn't hang has an Intel processor. I too hope this bug can be exterminated.
-
sorry, my mistake, somehow I I've read the filesize wrong

I'm on a laptop with a 4th Gen i5, so I guess there is a problem, and I hope it gets fixed. Starting a new session with very few tabs makes everything super fast for me, but when you get to 30-40+ tabs, the browser page loading and UI slows down like crazy!

Thanks! We will keep at it!

We will provide a lot more customization moving forward.

Yes, it is high on our list. Until then, please see "Move to" in the contextual menu.

Vivaldi crashes, when I use the following extension and try to sign in: Xmarks Bookmark Sync https://goo.gl/I8inY7
-
Known, and often reported.

Hey the the big man aka Mr. Opera & Vivaldi is replying on the forum. Great oppertunity for me to thank you Jon for all the work you have done so far and hopefully will be doing for the internet browser community. Being a Opera/ Vivaldi fan and user since V5 of Opera when we all uses telephone modems on 56 K Speed
Can you give us a rough hind on when the mail and newsfeed part of Vivaldi will be ready for user-testing ??
-
I hope that this feature can also be disabled because in here where I use this feature I too often accidentally drag tabs to new window and sometimes (when there are 4 windows and about 200 tabs) it' not easy to have this tab back in correct place.

Is there way to change channel - like there is in Mozilla prefs. Or is the only option to install different version.
-
Your second point should be solved by unchecking "Always Prefer Bookmarks" in the section "Settings" -> "Address Bar"
-
Regarding your third point I am not sure if I got you right but if you mean passwords and account names they can be deleted under "Settings" -> "Privacy" -> "Passwords"
-
1.1.453.47 is the latest final. To make it a bit more clear: there a two separate streams of browser update lines.
- First there is the "Stable Channel" (that is the one you use) this will only update to every other stable version and skip every test-version which will be released in between those stable versions.
-second there is the "Snapshot Channel" (it's latest version is 1.1.453.45) this channel will skip every stable version and only update to every version in between the stable ones. Those versions are meant for testing and finding bugs.
Pro's and con's:
Stable:
+ you know this one will work
- you maybe need to wait before you get updatesSnapshot:
+ you always get the newest stuff to try it out and play around (most times once or even twice a week)
- there might be changes that make your web experience close to useless until the next fix is released (but this happened only once to me) -
It's not just matter of whip. Many languages [teams] were added only recently.
One year ago I finished the Italian translation in 2hrs, but I had the unofficial translation already made, and and the whole translation was way smaller than today's one.
Starting today from the beginning is a pretty big work for the browser alone, but we have also vivaldi.com to translate
