Snapshot 1.0.435.26 - Fixes for Bookmarks, YouTube, Private mode and stacked tabs
-
FYI:
Small item but I commend you on this…probably had it for long time. If a person accidentally deletes a tab you got to far right trash icon, its there! MOST OF all when you recover it it goes to where it was originally, thanks for thinking this out so well!- Heh, heh. Kewl that you discovered this, Dovelove. Actually, this is a former OldeOpera feature that Vivaldi has not had for a "long time," but rather since day one. So I've only been aware of it for fifteen months, now…

Context menu on tab and hibernation are really unstable. Currently, it's hard to get the context menu by right-clicking on any of the tabs. Occasionally I get it –- would be an accurate description.
Also, when I do get the context menu, I don't get the "Hibernate This Tab" option even when the context menu is clearly on an active tab. As a result, I can hibernate a tab only by going to another tab and select "Hibernate Background Tabs".
Is this only me? Mac OS 10.11.4 .

Guys, "Emulation" tab still absent in the Developer Tools… I use Vivaldi for everyday web development and that's why i still use 1.0.418.3
-
https://help.vivaldi.com/ is now a Vivaldi Store.
-
Thumbnails in RMB+scroll (or Ctrl+Tab) are not up to date, always represent some old state of the tab (which is especially confusing if that was entirely different URL).
-
Regression: Fast Forward Mouse Gestures seem to have vanished.
-
Citrix apps are still not launching, also on Opera.
I fount that if I enable Disable NPAPI plug-ins on Opera, it will work, but will ask for download. But this flag is not in Vivaldi. So, how can I enable launching from Citrix? -
2 gripes:
1. On http://www.geenstijl.nl/mt/archieven/2016/04/totale_lul_van_de_week_vrachtw.html Vivaldi fails to display the YouTube video; Opera 12.17 works fine.
2. I can no longer save web pages. I don't recall this being mentioned by anyone, but haven't read all past messages… It seems to be complying with my instructions but nothing gets saved. To me, this is a major problem. -
Oops, sorry, forgot to mention: W8.1 4GB RAM.

Thank you, ryofurue!
I don't know how the translator got 'Thailand' from 'tile' but it was amusing. There is an option to improve/change the translation but I don't speak Japanese, I don't play one on T.V. and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express so I left it as-is.
Translators have to eat too but I'm thoroughly impressed by modern, free, online translation services even (especially?) when they make errors and I can laugh because I don't expect them to translate "War and Peace" or defend a Thesis.

For some reason, https://help.vivaldi.com/ prompts for a Username/Password then fails with ye olde, "401 Authorization Required."

LakeInHolland,
The link from item 1 doesn't allow me to get to any videos but your item 2 is confirmed here.
"File/Save Page As/Webpage, Complete" makes Vivaldi's Taskbar icon show a download in progress that stops at almost complete, then fails completely and hangs with my antivirus program scanning something until I temporarily turned off/on the realtime scanner.
"File/Save Page As/Webpage, HTML Only" makes Vivaldi's Taskbar icon show a download in progress that stops at almost complete, then saves the HTML text without bothering my antivirus program.
Restarting Vivaldi to 'clear' the incomplete download indication in the Taskbar icon works but the Session is not saved/reloaded and Vivaldi opens to the SpeedDial page.
Edit: Sorry about the Edit but I found the reason that restarting Vivaldi only loads SpeedDial. Closing Vivaldi with the TaskBar icon showing an incomplete download after saving a web page leaves most of the Vivaldi processes running. Restarting Vivaldi with all of the processes still running only opens SpeedDial. Oddly enough, the Extensions and plug-ins still work.

Royofurue, perhaps hibernating the Tab with the current focus would be like trying to temporarily park an airplane in a hangar while it is flying, then put it back in the air when you want to resume fight.

Nice analogy But, believe it or not, normally there do exist two options: "Hibernate Tab" and "Hibernate Background Tabs". So, Vivaldi does have the ability of snatching the airplane from the sky and parking it in the hanger right away!
Think about it. "Hibernate this tab" is the most straightforward way to control hibernation on a tab-by-tab basis.
So, my problem is that the context menu is unreliable.

I had to wipe out my profile to fix it, but it's fixed now.

I can't see past that whole eagerness to "sort" bookmarks" - only very novel users would do that, from name etc??? Seriously. SERIOUSLY?
After an import of my bookmarks from Google Chrome, I would want them in the exact order I have them on Chrome. Or any other browser.
I would also want them to pop right into place on the bookmarks bar without any further ado. I customize my visible bookmarks line (on Chrome) with folders acting as menus. It is a vital function to me in my work.
Sadly, right now my always trusted Chrome wins with my never wavering bookmark succession and arrangement regardless of logon and platform, even when I had to reset my phone, the bookmarks have been customized for years on end… well, unless you can incorporate that, it will just be too steep a dive into Vivaldi. I just cannot be bothered to sort years of bookmarks all over again, for days on end.
Your import is not helpful at all. And not something I aim to spend time on sorting out myself, manually, especially as I know it is such a small adjustment you need to make to make this happen.
Please consider an import mechanism to support the exact setup of the imported bookmarks. You will gain far more support from high end users, who will then advocate your browser.
