Snapshot 1.0.425.3 - A new introduction to our browser
-
Will there be a specific statement when the issues and hard lock-ups that happen when loading embedded media with Chromium 48 based Vivaldi in Windows 10 have been addressed?
-
Thanks for a new snapshot. Just one suggestion: maybe a new user who opens the browser for the first time and sees vivaldi://welcome should be advised to visit vivalditips? It's a great website btw
-
Are you going to allow saving incognito tabs as a session?
-
The problem is that men are no longer disposable. This makes the overall gender distribution unbalanced. Where before we had fewer men in adulthood and a society that favoured polygyny, now we have unbelievable social tension because of the excess of men and imposed monogamy.
-
Installed both 32-bit Windows versions and again Settings/Alt-P only opens one time per session. All the other settings choices from the drop-down work as expected, no matter how many times I open and close them. And I know Alt-P works fine with Opera 12, so I have to think there's something in the code that my setup has wandered into. Afterward, I tried installing the x64 version on top, but get a later-version-of-Chrome-installed error message. Win 8.1 Pro x64.

Wouldn't that be a bit against the purpose of those tabs to not leave any traces on the system when they (or the browser) are closed?
-
Thanks for the flowers
While that would probably help many people and despite I am a bit involved with vivalditips too, I don't know if that should be done because it is not an official Vivaldi Technologies page. I can figuratively hear the outcry of some people if we, the fans who maintain the page, write something wrong (which we really try to do not) and e.g. someone looses all of his bookmarks because of that (OK, that is unlikely, but Murphy lurks everywhere ;)). -
OK, this is getting long. Now I'd like the e-mails so here's my post to get 'em. Sure would love a way to get 'em without posting non-important stuff like this.

Hi guys, excellent work as usual! I've been using Vivaldi as my daily browser for a couple of months, and it's great.
I have found, however, a quite annoying bug that makes Vivaldi not to go to the right URL. Suppose you have a URL "xyz" bookmarked, and then you type a URL "xy" in the address bar, it will still go to "xyz". I reported this bug on VB-14461, and the actual URLs that I'm seeing this issue are:
xy: lanacion.com.ar
xyz: http://www.lanacion.com.ar/1352911-el-ranking-de-la-medialuna-las-10-mas-ricas-de-buenos-aires?origen=p-qltlThanks!

Oh. Thanks for the bookmark tip, didn't know that. And I've noticed stealing focus with only Vivaldi, so I don't think it's my OS.
-
I'm just saying there's something your OS is doing relative to Vivaldi that other OSes are not doing. Certainly it is a reaction to some trait of Vivaldi, but it's not really Vivaldi doing it. Were I you, I would consider using the more-stable Vivaldi 32-bit. Kinks in 64-bit are unlikely to be addressed directly before a 32-bit "final" Version One is achieved. I'm on the same OS as you, and I've never seen the focus-stealing thing.

Heh, heh. I did that. I assume no one will comment, but what the hey?:P

My preference in Opera 6, 7, 8, et seq until I started using side tabs all the time, was to simply move the navigation buttons, address field, search box and view button to the "main bar," and turn off the address bar and the page bar, which put tabs right at the top of the window. I have an image of it in Opera 8.54, but no place to host it, really. And we can't post pix here.

When I was a kid, we had a Model A that had all of the items I mentioned. It also had wire spoke wheels with skinny tires. To start it, you turned the key on, advanced the spark, pulled the choke, and stepped on the starter button. If it didn't start the first time, you worked the primer lever a little and it would fire right up. As soon as it was running, you retarded the spark to the "run" position, let it idle for a while and eased the choke in until it would run without being choked, and you were off.

Same here Win10 x64 Germany. I have the Adblock Plus extension activated.

Hello,
the "G Data Antivirus Business" still tell me to find on the regular Vivaldi-download a virus (Vivaldi.1.0.425.3.exe).
The test-download (Vivaldio.1.0.425.15305.exe) is not classified as a virus. -
Nice, but on Deezer.com website the player doesn't work.
-
"Add as New Note" is in.
It is called "Add Selection as New Note" -
Since you never responded to any of my argument…
The change you want is a cosmetic one. Like changing the color of the icon, or changing the font, or... It's utterly not important. Thus, it's the icing on the cake.Your wish is utterly not important. Making a fuzz about it won't change anything.
Again, it will come. But there are more important choices to add to the browser before your unimportant one. -
Like knoelli reported, there is an issue with the back button in some textarea/input field. On my work website which is done in asp.net, pressing the back button while writing something in a textbox would go back from one page instead of erasing the last typed character. In my case there was no flash involved, but probably some javascript onkeypress event. It's weird thought, because I can't reproduce it today.
