Snapshot 1.0.422.8 - Quick fixup for issues in the previous snapshot
-
Thanks for that. Scrolling fine once again and no dead birds.
-
I had no problems with scrolling before, but after this update Vivaldi doesn't respect the (reverse to usual) way I configured the scroll wheel of my Trackball in the system. It scrolls in the "wrong" direction now. Linux Mint Debian Edition.

I like the background tab progress indicator that Vivaldi put in a few snapshots back, but with this snapshot that progress indicator feature for background tabs has been rendered meaningless for me because of the aggressive tab discarding starting with this snapshot. No background tabs fully load here unless I actually click on the tab now. Perhaps, it's my memory situation, I suppose … but I thought it was worth mentioning in the event others are seeing this same phenomena beginning with this snapshot. Thank you.

8.1x64 Pro. Dialog. Either open via drop down or Alt-P. I tried other keystrokes and commands multiple times to check, including the only other Alt, Alt-Home, and they all work fine. Since most of those others won't open if they're already open, a left-field hunch is that Settings is not releasing in some way upon closure. One other thing I checked is that with Opera 12 sometimes the Edit on these posts doesn't respond without refreshing. So I tried that with Vivaldi and Alt-P still didn't respond. Puzzling.

On Mac the bug is still there unless you start vivaldi with a fresh application folder. I needed to transfer all my bookmarks to the new one

I have startpage as my default search engine and it seems to search fine in the address bar.
Seemed a little slower than usual.
Also Win 10 64bit

I'm tested and good!

For me, search suggestions work only for Bing (Win 8.1, Vivaldi 1.0.422.8, both x64). I also reset the search settings to default and unchecked "Disable search suggestions in address field" box
-
Ok. I am getting suggestions using Bing and DDG. No luck with Google.
My language is English-English. -
- Not much of a problem, but when you open the Language Settings it opens in a new tab which is fine, but as soon as you click done the tab doesn't close by itself, the windows containing the settings does, which causes an empty tab left.
- Inspect devices with vivaldi via vivaldi://inspect works fine but it says "Inspect with Chrome Tools" on the title bar, should also be corrected.
- I guess extensions support it's still not perfect: new tabs open for lastpass (for example while opening a secure note) will open the tab but won't show any content.

Win7 64 Viv32
Interesting site, looked around and no trouble here either.

I have no idea what you did with this snapshot, but it's by far the fastest one you ever made. Keep it up!
One question though - Why did you remove the option to disable auto fill and password saving that comes with chromium? It's a nice feature to have, in my opinion.
-
You may type "chrome:flags" in url and deactive smooth browser function.
-
You can detach tabs now, right-click the tab and you've got 'Move to' with a choice of anyother windows, or New Window. Can't drag tab between windows yet/still, and it just reopens the URL as far as I can see, so state is lost, as is it's link to the parent, but it's something of an improvement.

I couldn't launch the last Vivaldi build on Windows 10 x64.
I can see 2 vivaldi.exe in the task manager, each of them consumes about 1-2 Mb memory (working set) and looks like they do nothing. Kill them and restart Vivaldi didn't help.Any ideas? Should I reinstall the build?

Looking forward to editing/adding search suggestions on every custom search as well.
-
As it says in the article, search suggestions currently only work for bing and duckgogo

Netflix is still not working under Linux. Getting a session-expired-error. libffmpeg is correctly installed and working.
