Snapshot 1.0.422.8 - Quick fixup for issues in the previous snapshot
-
Ahhhhhhhh… Now that's better!
-
There is lots of work to be done to make it work. It's in the pipe, but it will take time.
-
It is possible to disable via vivaldi://flags/#disable-smooth-scrolling

My question to the team: the installation of a fixed transmission function is (like Google Chrome or Yandex) planned?
-
First i have to say is a big THANK YOU to the whole Vivaldi team for the incredible job. I use Vivaldi as my primary web browser and i'am super happy with Vivaldi. I have a little suggestion to make. It would be nice to define a custom thumbnail picture for speed dial entries. That would be another great step to customize Vivaldi a bit more.
Thank you and have a good time. ::Cheers::

…wrong my post

Hi,
thanks for that SS!
Clicking Speed Dial lacks modifier (Ctrl, Shift) support seen in the bookmark menu (VB-11458)
– Finally, thank you!!New Bug?
Search for a new update (autoupdate). If there is an update chose "update now". After the download you are asked to restart Vivaldi. The button "install and restart now" ist focused, but it can't be activated via the space key - you have to click it.Greetings

The issue with not staying closed on startup if it was closed on exit got fixed today, but after the build was made. We do open the sidebar by design when an item is added.

My question to the team: If installing a Translate function planned (like Google Chrome or Yandex)?

Maybe ought to switch Virus Scanners. I had Bitdefender long ago finnaly settled on Kaspersky had NO SUCH PROBLEM with it. The other night it detected a Trojan in an Email *zip file which I have never gotten in all these years.

Win 7 64 Bit, Viv 32
No problems so far in this build seems stable. I didn't try last build cause I didn't contribute that much to it and would take too much time. Thank for correcting it, as many have said you are GREAT!!! Nice to be back.

I've got the same problem here (Windows 10 x64, Vivaldi 1.0.420.4 & 1.0.422.8 x86). I did reset the search engine settings and unchecked the privacy setting, but I don't get any search suggestions. I tried with both Bing and Google as default search engine; I also tried setting the privacy checkbox & unsetting it again, but whatever I do, I won't get suggestions for any keyword.

Hi,
I've noticed one problem when I'm scrolling up/down with my scrolling wheel. If I change the Smooth scrolling OFF (with restart of vivaldi) it is still turned ON. Tried it several times now. No change in behaviour.
Previously it worked perfectly. Would you guys please look into that?
-
Above comments indicate that the setting is broken. Though you can try disabling it through flags which seems to have worked for me.
vivaldi://flags/#disable-smooth-scrolling

Still the same problem I reported after a clean reinstall yesterday: Settings will open only once per session. Have to close and restart to get them again. Like the previous problem I had initially with searches not responding in the last build (ok now), these sorts of little things are neither happening with any other browser or software, nor did they happen with Vivladi prior to the last build. I have to assume it's something on your end until shown otherwise.
-
Thank you! That worked beautifully! I'll have to get into flags more. But I think it still should be fixed to work within regular settings.
-
I have mentioned your solution on the Forum page https://vivaldi.net/en-US/forum/vivaldi-browser/8908-disable-smooth-scrolling#49897
I hope you don't mind…

Ahh! No more, "Watch the birdie!" Thank you!
In the Bookmarks Panel and the Bookmarks Page, pressing the Enter key doesn't add a new line in a Bookmark Description, it jumps the cursor out of the text box and leaves the editor 'open'; at least the little pencil stays blue in the Bookmarks Panel.
Edit: Downloaded files are shown correctly in the Downloads Panel – last downloads on top of the list -- but the sort order still goes bananas after clearing the download Search box. What is that sort order and can it be put back without restarting Vivaldi?
Crash Recovery. Is the UI supposed to automatically recover if it crashes or was that a fluke feature from the last Snapshot?

Wow! My "pet bug" (VB-10758) was also fixed! That problem I had with focus stealing on E20 ..
Thank you very much -
I've complained about that since some versions ago… now it seems to suggest other similar words, which is good too, but it would be great if you can select that behavior, like an option in configs, or some selectable thing somehow in the bookmarks manager window itself, like a radio button or something, for example.
The ones who need a general search behavior, would stick with that current behavior; and guys like you and me, with "turbo bookmarks" (simply loved that name!)...
