Snapshot 1.0.420.4 - Search suggestions and further bug fixing
-
My Bitdefender antivirus is always deleting the installer (windows 32 bit): infected: Gen.Variant:symmi.31976. For sure a false positive…but tell them...

Thanks for the new snapshot with the YouTube fix!
But I noticed a big slowdown with your last 2 snapshots (including this one). Even the startup improvements you introduced with build 1.0.403.15 is kinda gone now especially on Mac.

Chromium 49! Oh boy! (/Quantum Leap)
Scrolling through Bookmarks on the internal Bookmark page – not the Panel -- with the mouse wheel has made the UI crash several times now and it doesn't even give me the bird.
Since there were (are) still several Vivaldi processes still running I figured, "What the heck, I'll see if it will work!" so I clicked the shortcut to Vivaldi and the UI came right back up. Yes!
And a few beats later another Vivaldi window opened with just the Speed Dial Tab.
I guess it was recovering/remembering that I had the Bookmark page open.Edit: Clicking the sidebar Panel toggle made the UI crash again. Relaunch put me right back in place, followed by the new Vivaldi Speed Dial window echo.
Edit-edit: The LastPass button works with the browser now so the LastPass pages in the chrome-extension://hokiedokie…/somefeature.html tab are live instead of blank.

jepp, extremly slow scrolling and facebooks videos stutter. (Win 7 64bit, Vivalidi 32bit)
-
uBlock Origin 1.6.4 was not happy about this.

I guess I'll be the one person in Win10 (though it's build 14279) who can't find a browsing or slowness problem in this build. Maybe it depends on the site? Maybe it's the build of Windows? The video (Nvidia)?

There's a 1px line below my titlebar with this build.

Here Vivaldi is broken too:
Windows 10 64; german
GPU: AMD Nano
CPU: AMD FX8350 -
I suspect they will be another snapshot tomorrow to fixed this nasty bugs on this released….
-
NO!!!
…i downgraded, this build is broken.
Hehe, wating for next one.
-
Good about the search suggestions, this is was one of the things i was most wanting for our browser, but I will pass this build for now becauses of some issues. Waiting the next.
-
No-go, the first thing I did was make a clean install. Disabling HW Accel didn't help, it crashed in the middle of the Reply and I had to start over. :x
It also ate my Bookmark Bar so I replaced it with a backup file from a few days ago, now it's clappy as a ham but it's missing a few Bookmarks that are easy enough to replace.
I also disabled the automatic Tab discarding:-
vivaldi://flags/#automatic-tab-discardingNow Vivaldi doesn't discard/reload Tabs every couple of milliseconds (hyperbole alert) . That was starting to annoy me. I have RAM, use it, darn it.
-
Same for me since last 4 snapshots. Says browser unsupported.
-
same here… slow as hell (even after a restart) reverted back to previous snapshot.
W8.1 x64 with this x32 build (will not report as far as you have done it already) -
Manual upgrade from previous version did not work.
-
Crash Recovery has made a comeback.
Scrolling through a Forum thread crashed the UI. After a (relatively) short period of time, the UI launched itself and recovered without creating a a second Speed Dial echo window.
V-e-e-e-e-r-r-ry interesting – but stupid!

I do that. Vivaldi is still very beta; nothing has been set in stone yet and 'stuff' happens.8)
Copy and Zip the current Profile
Install the latest version
[learned after being bitten a few times] Shut down and relaunch a few times to check for showstopping bugs and goofy stuff
Copy the Bookmarks over and reinstall a few Extensions
Pray a lot
Mention bugs and goofy stuff
Report bugs on the Official bug form if necessary
Lather, rinse, repeat
Get bored and go pick lint off the dogs -
I would have loved if that happend every time. I had several crashes but it didn't do that despite I waited some time. Only some processes in the background but no UI…. :|
-
Yeah, there's nothing more fun than unknown and intermittent 'features'.
(sigh) Crash and automatic relaunch again. It doesn't seem to like scrolling and clicking; purses it off.

I have an issue with Smart RSS (opera extension), it didn't show up after updating, it's gone from the extension page. It's the first time it doesn't work, been using Vivaldi a long time now. When I tried to re-add it again (load unpacked extension) I got a weird error that said it couldn't load the extension's icon png. The png is in the very same folder it has been since the first time and it's as accesible as ever.
If anyone has any clue about this I'd appreciate it, I guess I'll use the previous snapshot for now.
