Snapshot 1.0.420.4 - Search suggestions and further bug fixing
-
Thanks for letting us that didn't want to pound on it that much know in RED letters, good of you to do so.
Addendum:
Same feeling as below said, much better than I. Didn't notice it til posted.YamiryuuZero 15 hours ago
I was going to test this build out like I did with all the previous ones, but seeing how many people are having trouble with it, I'll skip this build! Vivaldi is my main (and only) browser, so I kinda need it to be usable all the times! -
From speed dial page, put search words in address bar, then search field, no response from either
-
Where can I see the changes made on Chromium 51? Or is it too early?
-
Can't replicate the problem. What system are you on? What version number are you using? 32-bit or 64-bit?
-
Well done.
Let us hope they don't flag the next update again like it happened with another AV vendor. It took me 5 reports until they finally got it … -
-
Further issues I faced:
- when I have several unread tabs and I fast scroll to a tab on the other end of the tab bar (by scrolling the mouse wheel) I pass those open tabs by and immediately they become marked as read. A better way would be to mark them as read after they have been looked at for a specific amount of time (could be user specific, i.e. 300 ms)
- In settings the moment I change the GUI zoom level the settings start page is shown again (issue arised with this or the last SS).
- The controls of the print dialog ignores the GUI zoom level
-
wait, u mean we can feature request also on vivaldi.com/bugreport? Not just bugs?
-
Shift_JIS URL page and EUC-JP URL page doesn't work. (Win8.1 64bit, Vivaldi 64bit)
-
Tab stack must be like old Opera. Old Opera' s tab stack was very useful.:D
-
Yes, you're right. I hope Vivaldi does make the correct decision, and takes more control over their browser and hopefully codes Vivaldi into Chromium natively somehow, which would result in better performance and less memory usage.
Here's an article that implies how Brave handles things with Chromium. Very interesting: http://venturebeat.com/2016/01/20/brave-browser/

Why i don`t see Vivaldi on Github? So you will be able to connect more people than now you have. Pffff I really only agree with this?
-
GitHub is a source code repository and version control system. Vivaldi does not offer their source code publicly and does their own version control internally and via their update servers. I have never seen closed source software on GitHub. Am I missing something?
-
You mean from previous vivaldi builds? or Opera?
-
Hmm, anywhere I can read the changes in Chromium 51?
-
Me neither. I'm not even sure you can use Github for private projects or closed code.
-
You can use it for private projects, but I think you have to be open source - though you're allowed a lot of flexibility over what your licensing terms might be.
-
No toggle responsive mode with this version :shock: ?? NOOOOOOOO
-
Hey nice version again especially the middle click / open new tab on bookmarks bar folder entry working
Something I have seen now is that you can't drag & drag an url to your bookmarks panel.
-
there is an annoyance in the new search suggestion system.
The custom search engine has nickname "t".
When I start typing "t…" it founds match in my bookmarks and replaces it with "T|his tiny button…". But after I hit space bar, "T " remains capitalized and not considered as the nickname for the search engine.
Please do something about the automatic capitalization, I can't disable it without deleting the bookmark.
