Snapshot 1.0.385.5 - Changes to tab opening and closing behaviour
-
That's OK. The developers are used to it.
-
That's a poor translation. Try Bing:
VERY NICE BROWSER. THANKS RAZROBOTČIKAM. ONE QUESTION HOW CAN I CHANGE the speed dial TAB SIZE. Yours faithfully Alexander.

I hope they eventually make their own skin of everything Chrome. A lot of Chromium-based browsers look exactly like Chrome, and have the same Chrome-like sites. Opera is about the farthest thing from looking like Chrome at every corner.

There are some problems related to images.
Let's open a big image: http://i.jootix.com/o/unnamed–188d70a54b.jpg
1. Image is opened in it's original size, instead of beeing scaled to fit
window, like in Opera 12 (VB-12798).
2. Zoomed images are not centered - they are align to the left. It's visible when image width is of course lower than your PC width (VB-12796).
3. Zooming image page is cropping the image. Open an image and fit it to the window. Then try to zoom the page. You can see, that the image is cropped (VB-12797). -
I think some of the earlier snapshots had an animation across each tab while they were loading. I'm not sure why they were removed. Maybe it slowed down the interface too much.

I prefer new tab opening in all cases next to current tab, even the ctrl+t respective [+] as an option.
Having to look for my new tab somewhere at the end of all those "related" tabs is very confusing to me.
Since I have read in other replies a lot of users desire a different "new tab behaviour", why not introduce one more option to control the new tab behaviour seperately from the background tab behaviour? -
well. it use but it cannot use it at the same time. so, each tab is a separate process, BUT the main process DEPENDS on processes of the tabs. so if one tab gets frozen - main process is frozen too. if one tab crashes - most of the times it will crash the whole browser too. the only case when you actually see this sandboxing is when you manually kill the tab process.
-
Now can only mute and unmute tabs.
When there are many, the mute button makes the problem of switching between tabs. Please, add option settings - click on the "volume icon" also activates the card.

is at a position where i would not expect it. It should either be on the right or left. Not sure if right or left of the total bar or right/left of the searchbar/prev/next/… elements, but not in the middle of the controls. -
and that https://giphy.com/gifs/fcUlrYalrx6dW

Yes, I notice that too. When one of my tabs crash, they all crash and the entire browser crashes. I really hate that. Will Vivaldi fix that?
-
I don't know if I should address this as a bug for the browser itself, but the LastPass extension doesn't work properly and this happens only on vivaldi, this extension works fine in both Opera and Chrome. Sometimes when you open the extension button, it shows nothing and won't get fixed until you disable and re enable the extension; the second issue with this one, is you can't open the notes since a couple vivaldi snapshots ago, before that you could and it worked, so I assume was some change in the code what caused this.

it is nice to have a search bar, it would be even better to have an option to open a new tab from there.
Opera has no search bar, but I use DuckDuckGo and Qwant and I can obtain that result - getting my search in a new tab - with an extension, alas those keyboard command exstensions don't work in Vivaldi -
IIRC Opera should have search bar since 2 stable versions now Looks like it's only working with default search engine though

Opera management of search engines is one of the many reasons that make Vivaldi my main browser.
I have read on the Opera blog of an upcoming search bar, but looking at 35 - stable - I'd say it is still not active, is it a flag? -
… [edited]
If someone can - please remove this comment -
Opera at least has POST search engines
I don't know. I may be wrong about search bar availability then. I'm using Developer version. But I thought I read about it getting into stable some time ago

Vivaldi doesn't open direct links to png images with middle click. Like a few in the comments above. Here's an example: https://i.imgur.com/wqC3g6e.png If I middle click it doesn't display the image, only a place holder icon. If I left click it, the image opens, and the cursor turns into a magnifying glass with a plus sign in it, I have a very low resolution screen (1366x768), however clicking on the image doesn't open it in its full size, it does nothing. If I zoom in on the pic with Ctrl+mouse wheel, I can't scroll up to the top of the image.
edit: Now that i typed this all in, the image does open with middle clicking.Maybe because it's in the cache now, however using Ctrl+ mouse wheel makes it disappear sometimes I can only bring it back by reloading the pic.Invert filter needs a little refining. It doesn't invert white, like the background on this very page. It works wonders on the top of the main blog page (vivaldi.net/en-US/) where there's a light gray background, but doesn't do that on the bottom of the page where there are the list of old blog entries.
Download is interrupted at updating for a few releases now. It's a minor annoyance since I can find "Check for updates" in the "Help" menu, however a "Retry" button would be nice on the "Download is interrupted" dialog window.
Win 10 64 bit, Vivaldi 1.0.385.5 (64 bit).

Did not have the time to reed through all these comments. When will you add the functionality to tear tab from the tab bar so it becomes a stand lone Vivaldi window?
