Snapshot 1.0.385.5 - Changes to tab opening and closing behaviour
-
I'd like to hear from those who do want and use it to be 100% clear so that there is no chance of confusion from speculation.
-
Thanks for the update, so we know it was temporary
-
The rounded corners issue is logged as VB-12566
-
Looked the issue with poor icons support under OSX dark theme as VB-12701
-
Just to be clear, can you clarify what you expect this setting to do. By that I mean it should it open immediately to the right for tabs opened from another tab (e.g. Ctrl+click) AND also if you issue Ctrl+t or click on the "+" icon with a mouse. Or should tabs opened from Ctrl+t or by clicking on the "+" icon still open at the end?

Glad that you like the new tab settings. Just a reminder however. Our new close tab setting is not identical to other browsers. It also takes into account activation order when there is not relationship between tabs.
-
To be clear you are looking a closing behaviour that favours focussing the tab to the right and never considers relationships and activation order OR is a direct copy of other browsers and considers relationships but not activation order.
-
"without extension"?
Do you mean right of current tab in all cases, even when opening with Ctrl+t or clicking on "+"?
-
i meant: my friend complained, but he doesn't have account here, so i'm just sending his complain for him please count my comment as +1
-
try middle mouse button
-
Thanks for the kind words and yes that is something we can consider. I logged it as a feature request for you VB-12702
-
I presume you have both the NPAPI and PPAPI versions installed. Just disable (or better yet) remove the old one, probably NPAPI
-
they had it before vivaldi on developer version.
- this isn't a race between vivaldi and opera [+ opera is still ahead in case of stability and speed]
- don't compare stable software with another software but in beta/developer builds
-
Like Ayespy, I am not quite sure what you are referring to
-
You can open in a background tab via Ctrl+click or a mouse gesture over a link (down+up). Are you talking about a context menu item or something else?
I have logged the context menu item for now as VB-12704. Though I strongly suspect this was logged before and I missed the bug so that number is subject to change if I find the original.
-
Frankly, I consider the fact that the default search engines can't be set separately a bug. There is no reason why they should be linked. But in general I very much like where Vivaldi is going, and I appreciate all the options we are getting!
-
Logged as VB-12705
-
We have some fixes for extensions lined up. I believe this should be working better in a future snapshot in the near future

NEW BUG INTRODUCED IN THIS VERSION
when i'm pressing a key while www sidebar (it's ok with internal sidebars) - this key is also triggered with current tab.
i discovered this when i press backspace to clear some input text and it made my page to "went back". other keys was triggering page actions too (as page was listening for some keys)
