Snapshot 1.0.380.2 - Bug fixes and new Settings
-
Just did that myself, it now works perfectly. Thanks for the tip!

That is something that has been bugging me for a while now. All Vivaldi processes are gone, yet it keeps using CPU. But it doesn't happen to any other program, only Vivaldi! I don't get it either.

VB-12387 Zoom indicator is black on black
Vivaldi has a Zoom-Indicator? Where? Am I blind or what? :?:
Bottom right.
-
sorry, meant the vivaldi-snapshot in /home/…/.cache/vivaldi-snapshot
-
something's weird with the edit function in the forum. But never mind that now.
no, its no clean install, its upgraded since - I don't know - about 20 snapshots. It occured only during the last three snapshots.
Its an older xubuntu 12.04 lts with xfwm.
it happens whenever I open vivaldi or open a new window
what would I have to do if I tried to do a clean install?
is it that:
sudo apt-get remove vivaldi-snapshot
apt-get install vivaldi-snapshotmaybe I should remove the vivaldi-snaphot folder in home/…/.cache/ ?
-
Bottom right.
Thanks, but there is nothing.
See Screenshots a few posts above.I found it, the reason I'm not seeing the bottom-statusbar is that I had it set to "Show Status Info Overlay". That's why it didn't appear.
What does "Show Status Info Overlay" by the way?.
I can't get the status bar to appear when I have set it like that. How is it supposed to work?
-
Great looking.
????
1)Transparent panel?
2)Auto hide panel ? -
I had not never realized, actually does not seem to have a utility. Perhaps it is a incomplete feature or a bug.

I wish to express my gratitude for all the efforts in creating the Vivaldi browser. In recent weeks I finally found Vivaldi to be good enough for me to replace Opera 12. I remember being excited more than 15 years ago about using the Opera browser, then in beta, as my main browser, and I'm just as excited today using Vivaldi, also as my main browser. Sometimes gems are found in life and it is how I feel about Vivaldi.
-
At the very least, they should give the option eventually.
-
Do you mean to choose a color different from the background of the website or background of the tabs?
-
Does somebody else recognised an increased startup time of Vivaldi over the last 3 snapshots (this one included) ?
This only seems to apply to my netbook, didn't noticed this on my pc so far.
Netbook specs: Win 7 32-Bit; Intel Atom 1,6GHz; 1GB RAM
"Normal" startup time was about 20-30 seconds now it doubled to 50-60 seconds.Yes, I know this netbook ain't a ferrari ^^ and once Vivaldi is running everything behaves like I expect it to do, but I keep wondering what might have caused the drastic increase in loading time.
Any guesses?

OK, thanks. So it's not just me.
-
It seems to me (probably only me, heh) that if Viv is to have coloured tabs, all the tabs ought to be coloured all the time for visual identification; perhaps with the inactive tabs pastelised or darker or something, and the active one brighter. Or at least as a possible future option. At the moment, one bright tab and all the rest grey doesn't really make a massive amount of sense to me. But maybe that's just me.

"Show Status Info Overlay" is the setting so that when you hover a link, etc. you get to see the address in a little overlay at the bottom left of the screen. If you are using the Status Bar, that same information appears at the left end of the bar instead of overlaid on top of the web page you have open.
-
Also, the color behind active tabs doesn't look great when you have your tabs at the bottom. Could you make the address bar's color change as well?
Same when you have it on the left. The address bar is grey all the time, which looks not good when the tab bar is completely red then.
-
OK, so it does seem to do someting. Thanks for that.
Interesting is when you move the mouse over a link (for example a username here) you get to see the link adress. But when you hover over something like "Quote" or "Reply" for example, you get nothing. It's probably because those are script-based.
The Problem with the overlay setting is, you lose acces to the functions
- Zoombar
- Page Actions
- Toggle Images
- Page Tiling
- Show Panel
I don't think it is behaving the way it should… :?:
-
It's coming.
-
Known bug (regression), we're working on it. Cheers.

#2: Coming in the next snapshot (also a setting to enable/disable the feature)
