Even after so many updates it is still not possible to save the encryption key VB-105910
-
@Hadden89 Correct, I used that old address when I was on Virgin Media. I still have it set up for Opera 12.18, which I run occasionally to backup important emails.
More important, does the account still work?
I just received a test message sent from the NTL account.
I have not received a test message sent to the NTL account.Opera 12.18 also received the test message sent from the NTL account, but not the one sent to the account.

@cleuton4k
Hi, this bug is fixed and in the snapshot and stable build.
It does not mean an affected system start to work automatically.
I post the solution in the tread about, a simple logout/in should solve the issue.
If you cant remember such an important password, reset the remote data and choose a new encryption password. -

eset the remote data and choose a new encryption password.
And Save it!

@Gregor What is your issue?
-
Ok I admit I screwed up the changelog and omitted one thing. I have edited it in now
- [New][Mail][Settings] Show preview of message body text of 1, 2 or 3 lines (VB-98705)
-
@DoctorG Just old VB-99621 bug, panel toggle cuts every page.
And why my Ctrl+Space shortcut doesn't work and even can't create a new one? -
Hi Vivaldi team! Thanks for a fresh snapshot! Always appreciated^^
When I read "[Tabs] Various issues related to moving (VB-105807)" I immediately thought, that the jerky behavior when moving a tab might finally has been taken care of. But sadly it didn't... What do I mean? Well
- activate vertical tabs
- activate accordeon styled tab stacks
- create some tab stacks
- move a tab around
At least on my machine (latest Vivaldi snapshot) the little arrows below every tab stack disappear once I start moving a tab around. Therefore all tabs get re-aligned accordingly and I have to look for that spot again where I want to drop the tab. It looks and feels jerky and makes moving tabs around somewhat annoying.
Since I already started writing this comment in the first place I might as well go on with my nitpicks now:
Please make sure marking multiple e-mails behaves like in my OS that I am on. It is what I expect and what disapponts me when the experience is different. Let's say I want to mark 10 e-mails. I could mark the first one move the mouse cursor to the 10th, press shift and click on it. -> All ten have been marked. That's great.
But what is it like to mark all ten e-mails except for the second.
When talking about files in Windows I would mark the first file, move the cursor to the third file, hold Ctrl, click, move the cursor to the 10th file, hold Ctrl AND Shift, and click on it. As a result all ten files except for the second one are marked. Great!
But when marking mails this way in Vivaldi only the last eight e-mails from our example are finally marked. The first one gets discarded. This makes handling multiple e-mails somewhat difficult and clumsy.
Oh, and notes! They need so much love. Please! I do not know how and where to start with my complaints. Do I use them? Yes, I can't do without them! But boy, they need so much polishing and bugfixing. I won't go into details here. Just use them in your everyday work and you will see all the shortcomings that keep them from being exceptional useful. I think when you already ship them with Vivaldi make'em shine. It is such a nice feature. It is sad to see it stay in the state it is in right now.
Other than that: Vivaldi ftw! Been using it since the first public snapshot. Can't do without it anymore.
All the best to you Vivaldians!

My opinion: The show tab memory makes the tooltips too crowded. It's ok with a single tab, but for a tab stack it gets crazy with the extra lines and information. Many with focusing issues will have a problem with it.
Could it instead be invoked while pressing ctrl or something?
-
@paul1149
It would be nice to have a setting for it.
If it bother to much you can block it with a few lines of CSS. -
@mib2berlin Thanks. But that doesn't work here, even with !important added.

@Gregor I updated tracker now for 6.7.3329.31 and 6.8.3356.3

So apologies to devs for their effort, but...
It seems this will need its own Topic at the Mod Sub
Move or Redo?
-
@Zalex108 None of them. It works for me, that's all. It'll work for everyone else if they do it correctly. I'm not doing IT support for small one-off mods. Either they figure it out or they dont.
"Doesn't work" is not enough information to know what they're doing wrong.
If they are really desperate they can open their own topic and ask nicely for help to remove the memory data. -
@Ruarí Just another Vulnerability?

I'm referring to have the code with better visibility having it's own Topic, as other fixes instead that in the middle of a Topic.
It will be buried in few hours / days.Just for that.
Don't worry.
