You can get SearxNG under the GNU Affero GPL v3 at https://github.com/searxng/searxng. Since vivaldi already offers a community site with blogging, email, forums, themes and a browser, perhaps a search engine is next. I would also like the status on when Yandex, Metager and Brave Search will be added as options for default search engines for english speaking users like me?

@JoeBecomeTheSun If vivaldi doesn't want to roll their own search engine, that is understandable, but at least they could add Yandex, Freespoke, Metager, Brave Search, Swisscows and Gigablast as options for search engines. Yandex is a russian search engine that is sometimes more useful than American search engines due to Russia's internet regulators not caring about some types of websites and encouraging others. Metager is a german metasearch engine run by a nonprofit. Brave Search has a unique feature called Googles which allow anyone to tweak the ranking algorithm. Swisscows is a swiss search engine designed to be safe for children by banning pornography and Gigablast is an independent and free as in freedom search engine written in C++ and run by one guy who used to work at Google. The URLS for these search engines are https://yandex.com, https://freespoke.com, https://metager.org, https://swisscows.com/en, https://search.brave.com and https://gigablast.org.

What is not understandable, is to ask a browser to develop a search engine.

I cannot understand why such unreasonable requests are made.

If Vivaldi allows you to enter the search engines you want, why are you asking Vivaldi to have as options 6 search engines that only you like?
