How will Vivaldi deal with Google's Manifest V3?

Because I don't want to let advertising steal my time.
A little modesty, respect for other users and inform yourself before saying stupid things.

Nice to see in extensions manager that two of my ultra-important accessibility extensions work now with Mv3
Now i wait for Stylus.
And Vivaldi Blocker becoming better than uBlockLite until 7/2025. -
@DoctorG, as said

I am also concerned about Stylus, because for me it is equally important as uBO.
"tophf" is the main contributor of Stylus and Violentmonkey, and said about the latter:
"ntt77 commented last week
so, what is actually happening here?
will you develop a new version for MV3 or I need to switch to Tampermonkey?tophf commented last week
Nothing's happening yet, don't have much time. Eventually we'll migrate. I'm not particularly flustered because it's quite trivial to prolong ManifestV2 until the next summer via policy/registry."Therefore, I am hopeful that everything will go well with Stylus and it is just a matter of waiting.

You are defining the height of the Olympic high jump bar in the wrong way.
The comparison between the built-in adblocker will be against Adguard (MV3 Beta).
Look this post and following:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/79579/manifest-v3-webrequest-and-ad-blockers/193
Install it and give it a try to see what you think.

Regarding the comparison between the built-in adblocker and Adguard:
Is "complicated" because the logical thing that the built-in could offer as more power against Adguard would be in principle not to have limitation of rules, but it is to some extent relative, because if you check the list of rules that comes included by default is very powerful and covers a wide spectrum.
PS: It remains to be seen what features the built-in adblocker can have that are not limited by MV3. One example could be manage YT.
In this sense, it would be interesting for people who have problems with YT and who do not manage to circumvent them with the built-in, to install it and check its efficiency.

The team is in line to improve the built-in adblocker and the first step is to allow the inclusion of lists that are currently not supported.
Therefore, it would be convenient to mention which of the previous lists can be included in new versions of Vivaldi, because they are the "De facto standard".

I am going to ditch Vivaldi and go with Brave as Brave said they will be constantly bringing MV3 back after 2025.
uBlock Origin is able to achieve AD-less YouTube while Vivaldi's built-in AdBlock can't, this alone should already prove that uBlock Origin is superior than Vivaldi's built-in AdBlock.

You don't need to tell us what you are going to do. It is of no interest to us.
-
@barbudo2005 You don't need to tell me you are not interested. If you are not interested, why bother replying to me and creating spam notifications in my mailbox?
I am posting here, only to provide someone else who also wants to use a browser that supports a "proper" AdBlock extension (rather than Vivaldi's incomplete and incompetent one). -

Do not subscribe to Vivaldi forum if you are not interested in Vivaldi browser (which adblock extension can helps), and if you do not want to get notifications from such forum!

Hello, what is planning for the native vivaldi ad block, any optimization ?
Any new feature ?
Any way to select blocks/elements with cursors in the futures ? -
@barabbas No one knows. We only know that the developers will continue to improve and optimize it in ways that they find practical.
-
@Ayespy Thanks for the honest answer.
I wish best for vivaldi team, the web browser with the best builtin ad blocker will win the prize IMO. -
@sukka Subscribing to YouTube has been one of the most fruitful investments I have ever made. I recommend, so you don't need to run after from this adblocker to that.
-
@barabbas, the blocker for sure will be improved. To select and delete elements in the page, at the moment I use this script as workarround (downloaded and installed as extension)
