Template created items not sticking
-
This is another one of those weird events that I find myself reporting. There may be a simple explanation but I have created various calendar templates (very handy) and have been successful using them until today.
In Calendar settings create a template & save
In Calendar date cell create a new item via template
Item does not appear in cell. In fact it totally disappears & I have no idea where it has gone.
Creating the same item manually, i.e. w/o template appears in calendar cell as one would expect. Like I said, weird..... Anyone else?
TIA -
That is strange.
So you create a new event, apply the template and save? And the event disappears?
Do you see the properties that the templates have being applied to the event before the save?
Does it do this for all templates? -

indeed

That's what was happening the day I reported it.

Yes
Does it do this for all templates?
No
But having said all that, after a computer restart, things seem to be back to normal except it is taking 6-7-8 secs from save until I see the item displayed in Calendar cell. In fact overall, Vivaldi startup seems a bit sluggish to me. The mail process took longer than usual while I got a popup for every new email. I have now de-selected Email notification to see if that makes a difference
@eggert Thanks very much for your follow up. Much appreciated.

Great that it's back to normal. Sluggish performance not so great.
Could be a number of reasons for that. We are aware that calendar gets slow if there are thousands of events, and if it's an event being synced to a server it will add time and potential causes for delay. Other things in the browser can also affect this, there have f.ex. been some cases of mail acting up recently which can cause considerable load. Would be good to hear back if this is a persistent problem. And also do continue to report any issues you have with the templates.
