      Hi

When using a harware key like Yubikey to login to Vivaldi there are 3 steps:

      1. Username and password -> 2. Hardware Key -> 3. Hardware Key Pin Code

Not all sites that allow for hardware keys require the hardware key pin code, so I assume it is a choice by the developer how to implement this.

Currently the triple factor seems too much and cumbersome to me, isn't it?

Perhaps it would be better to provide the user with the choice of going passwordless (which would include the key's pin code), or keep the password stage and then the hardware key without pin.

What are your thoughts about this?

@ChimeraLove FIDO2 for authentication in Vivaldi Services is planned.
Or where do you want to use a hardware key? Do you mean feature Passkeys?

In Vivaldi Account, under Two-Factor Authentication I already added a security key.

@ChimeraLove Ah, ok. Yes, it is uneasy with FIDO as you need to have login password ans hardware key pin.

Sorry for the inconvenience. A update for easier use of hardware keys is planned for Vivaldi services, but no timeline yet.

I try to ping someone to answer you here.

              @DoctorG Thanks.
It's Interesting what will be in the update.

As they said in this blog about the three methods:

              Something you know.
              Something you have.
              Something you are.

Having twice "something you know" - Password and PIN code, and in addition the "something you have" - Hardware Key, is triple factor.

I think it will be great to have the option for two-factor, I personally would go passwordless, and have just the Key+it's PIN...
