[Solved] Youtube page doesn't load after last update
-
Since the last Vivaldi update (6.2.3105.45), the YouTube page no longer loads, or it gets stuck in the initial stage. The hamburger button is visible. When I click on it, the menu appears and I can click on "Subscriptions", for example. Only then does YouTube load my subscriptions, but not from the beginning (bookmark is set to YouTube feeds). In Opera, YT works fine, as well as in Snapshot 6.2.3096.3 Can anyone confirm this?
Tested on Linux Mint 20.3 and Win 10. -
@Dancer18 No problem here on Windows 10.
Are you logged in to YouTube?
-
@Pesala Thank you for your feedback.
Yes I am logged in. After trying logging out and in again without fix I then disabled uBlock Origin. That brought back the complete site.
After updating the uBO lists it is working now again as it should.
Problem solved. -
@Dancer18 Happened once here too with UbO and user logged in.
Clicking to hamburger icon/home button seems to solved the glitch without logging out.//EDIT: Nevermind... had to logout, purge the cookies and disable UbO for a while. But I think will work now (only doubleclick was filtered). Must be linked to a g-consent screen which was filtered.
-
@Hadden89 As for uBO, it is advisable to clear the cache every now and then and then refresh the filter lists. This can be done via >options of the plugin:
-
@Dancer18 Ah... Never had to purge the cache to update the filters. Nice to know. Tnx.
In my case the issue was clearly a filtered consent screen (even without the cookie EU list) -
@Dancer18 Problem solved, thank you very much!

@Dancer18 Tip: To mark a thread as resolved (to save time for others):
- Edit the first post
- Open the dropdown on the Submit button and click the radio button saying Ask As Question
- Submit the post again
- Select the three dot vertical menu of the post that resolves the question
- Select the checkmark saying Mark This Post As The Correct Answer
-
@Pesala Thank you. I have received this tip several times, and forgotten it next time.
There are much more intuitive variants for "mark as solved" in many other forums. This variant does not open up to me. After all, I don't want to ask a question, I just want to mark the post as solved. It would be wonderful if this gets a nicer solution soon.
For me it is saving time to do it as I did here. -
@Dancer18 Like most things in life, it is easy when you know how. Remembering to submit a new post as a question saves time, but I never remember to do it.
Since we depend on NodeBB for the forum code, we might not see this improved for some time.
Tagging it in the right way moves the correct or best answer to the top, which saves a lot of time for users looking for solutions for the same problem.
