How to get Vivaldi.net calendar up and running?
-
Hi everyone,
Today I've tried to add a Vivaldi.net calendar to Vivaldi's calendar, but despite several attempts, it always said it failed to fetch any data. I also could not create a new calendar, as it would simply not do anything after clicking on Create Calendar.
Is the calendar tied to the email account that Vivaldi only gives you when you're earned it?

Yes, that is the reason you're not able to add Vivaldi.net calendar to the browser's calendar client yet. Keep using our other services (Sync, Vivaldi Social, Forum, Blogs and Themes) and soon you'll be able to use the calendar as well.

@jane-n, thank you!
I see. Is there any estimate on how long I need to use other services to be eligible? I've made this account roughly two months ago and have been using Sync every day. I'm asking because I would like to replace Google Calendar with Vivaldi's as soon as possible.

@maheti, we can't share any details, but I'm guessing you should be close to getting access.
You can check your account's profile on Vivaldi.net. If you see Webmail listed among the services, you have gotten access.

@jane-n, alright. Thank you so much! I hope I can get access soon.

Hi @jane-n,
I have now access to the email account and that is up and running. However, when trying to add the calendar, it says the authentication failed for my account (which is weird, since email worked). Could this be due to 2FA maybe, or is there any other issue?

Possible. If you have enabled 2FA, then you need to create app passwords for calendar (and mail) clients.
You can generate the passwords on your account's profile on Vivaldi.net (in the 2FA section).You can also take a look ar this Help page https://help.vivaldi.com/services/webmail/set-up-vivaldi-webmails-calendar-in-calendar-clients/.
