Enhancement: A way to select the root Bookmarks folder as Speed Dial folder
-
I'm using Vivaldi 1.1.453.59 (Stable channel) (32-bit). I understand how you can set a Bookmarks folder to be the Speed Dial folder, but I can't find a way to set the root Bookmarks folder as Speed Dial; I would like to be able to do that. Thanks! I am trying out using Vivaldi as my everyday browser and it looks great so far.

[ol]
- Create a new folder for your Speed Dial (or Bookmarks Bar folder)
- Move all of your bookmarks to that folder
- Set that folder as your Speed Dial folder (or Bookmarks Bar folder)

You can't select the root, but Pesala's method described above is literally just as good. It is the exact solution I would have suggested.

Thanks for the replies!
I know I can set the Speed Dial to any arbitrary bookmarks folder, but I appreciate the reminder. The reason I want to set it as the root folder is that I sync my bookmarks with Safari on my iPhone; there, the root Bookmarks folder is used as a speed dial, so I am hoping to be able to replicate that in Vivaldi.
For now, I'll just not set a Speed Dial folder in Vivaldi and switch to Bookmarks when opening the Start Page.
