CAD performance test
-
Hi, I am involved in 3D modeling and render since a long time and on Blenderartists.org a user publish a benchmark testing CAD capabilities of browser:
I test Vivaldi compare to Brave and the results are a bit curious, 2:1 for Vivaldi on Linux with Vivaldi 6.2.3054.3.
I will test this on my other system on Windows 11.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin Hi, interesting stuff.
Not sure what you mean by 2:1 - do you mean Vivaldi gets twice as good results as Brave?
For my testing on Windows 10 x64, Nvidia RTX 3070.
Vivaldi 6.1 Stable (Chr. 114)
Opera 100 "One" actually just upgraded (Chr. 114):
For Brave 1.49 (Chr. 111) I had to turn off the "Shields" first otherwise it didn't work at all.
Chrome 114:
Firefox 114:
Most interesting is Edge 114:
But this is because of Edge's "Enhanced security" which nerfs stuff like WebAssembly/JIT.
Edge without "Enhanced security":
So in conclusion, basically the same result in all browsers. Which is to be expected, it's exactly the same rendering engine except in Firefox.
I would be more surprised if results were different.
All tested in clean profiles of course. -
@Pathduck
Hi and thank you for the comprehensive tests, at my first test on Linux Vivaldi snapshot, not clean, was close to 2 times faster than Brave.
I cant reproduce this on Windows 11 with Chrome/Edge, I got the same similar results.
Maybe I should test this again on Linux on my system with better hardware.Thanks again, mib
