Viewing & editing Vivaldi calendar on Android
-
I am in the process of transferring my email, calendar and contacts to Vivaldi. Very much liking email client and calendar in Vivaldi browser.
What is the best way to view and edit my Vivaldi calendar on my phone (Android based /e/ operating system)?
-
@steveredshaw Vivaldi mobile - Android - does not include calendar or mail client, it needs separate apps for that.
I use aCalendar+ as my calendar app because it is one of the few apps that also integrates and displays Vivaldi tasks.
(Other apps are only able to display google tasks.)To sync calendar and contacts I use DAVx5, as email client Blue Mail.

@allcode is this on Google Play store, I cannot find it!
-
@allcode I'm not aware that there is a "Vivaldi Calendar app" for Android.
Do you mix it up with the desktop version? -
@Dancer18 thank you - I am trying out Blue Mail and Fair Mail as email clients on my phone. They work fine.
I am struggling with calendars, having first set up 2 local calendars - which I now understand can only be accessed on my desktop browser.
So, I have created a vivaldi.net calendar account, but cannot import from an .ics file - just 67 events, but the import status just stays 0/67. This same file imported into local calendar successfully. I am at a loss to know what to do...

@steveredshaw
Hi, import is not needed if you create an account in the Vivaldi calendar client on the desktop.
If you connect to the vivaldi.net calendar all events are imported.You need to import if you used a different calendar and don´t want to use it anymore.
-
@steveredshaw Did you import the .ics file into webmail.vivaldi.net calendar? That would be the number for sure. I don't know right now if it also basically works within desktop calendar.
-
@mib2berlin sorry, I don't understand. I have 2 Local calendars, filled with events. I have created a vivaldi.net calendar account. If I display my vivaldi.net calendar only nothing shows. I am trying to get a display/sync going on my phone, but as Vivaldi does not yet have native android apps, this is rather involved!
-
@steveredshaw Yes, in vivaldi.net calendar will appear only appointments that are registered there, so no appointments of local calendars.
It is correct to import appointments of other calendars in .ics format, in web calendar (webmail.vivaldi.net). This is the first task.
The second task - synchronization with android - requires installation of DAVx5 app on android.
With this app you can synchronize all CALDAV calendars as well as contacts. Once you have installed the app, you just need to add vivaldi.net account and select what you want to synchronize.
For example, I have enabled 3 calendars and 1 tasks, as well as contacts.
The 3rd task is to install a suitable calendar app on android. I recommend aCalendar+, as this calendar can also display the Vivaldi tasks (it has its own tasks widget.) -
@steveredshaw
Yes, local calendars are synced with nothing.
You can export local calendars to a .ics file, import this in the vivaldi.net calendar using the web client.
If the Vivaldi calendar client update ot you manually refresh it load the new events.
Then you can delete the local calendars if needed and use only the vivaldi.net calendar.
