Writesonic app totally borked
-
I have a paid sub for Writesonic. Today I cannot access ANY features at all.
Everything is greyed out. When I try logging in with Edge the site works, but Vivaldi does not work, at all. See pic )))
OK don't see pic, but yeah everything is greyed out
Edit: Alternatively, how to roll back the Vivaldi version, because it was working before the update?

@biggly Hi, I just tried signing up to the site with a test account, and it seems to work just fine in Vivaldi 6.1 Stable under Windows 10.
Please try the troubleshooting steps, including testing in a clean profile and disabling adblocking/extensions:
https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/troubleshoot/troubleshooting-issues/To insert images here, paste the image url into the generated code after clicking the Image Link button:

Or just paste an image directly from clipboard into the text field. Make sure it's small enough, I recommend 700px width. -
@Pathduck I just tried disabling all extensions and now I can't find any means of turning them back on again.
Why are extensions and history/cache do deeply hidden in the settings?
Tried clearing cache, same problem. So it's not the cache and not the settings.
I have no idea of my password, so no desire to log out.
I have no 'image url' because I have not uploaded any images anywhere. Why would I upload such a thing anywhere except here?
I'll try pasting, see what happens...

OK, as a guest profile it works.
But what can I do with my normal profile, beyond clearing the cache and turning off every extension?
I have put 'general settings' to default, still borked?

This means it's something in your general profile causing this.
My guess is the adblocker. One of the troubleshooting steps specifically says to disable this for testing.now I can't find any means of turning them back on again.
How did you disable the extensions? You enable them in the same place (Tools menu > Extensions). Unless you actually removed them from the icon context menu, then they are not disabled, they are uninstalled.
no desire to log out.
If you want to fix this issue on your side, you'll need to follow the troubleshooting steps.
Why would I upload such a thing anywhere except here?
Because some images might be really large and the forum only allows a certain size for pasting directly.

@biggly I've tried turning off the built in tracking blocker, no difference.
So it's not the cache, it's not an extension, and it's not the built-in blocker. I can log in to the site OK so I doubt it's a cookie issue. Besides, I cannot log out of that site, because like everything else that part of the software is grayed out.
OK, it is now fixed. I clicked on the padlock icon (which is... not intuitive), everything was showing as set to default but I tried telling it to clear all data. That logged me out but it seems to be working now.
I must say, I wasted a lot of time trying to find extensions and history under 'settings', and they're not there, they're under "tools" which seem a really.... annoying place to put them. At least give a link to such tools under the settings?
*rant over

@Pathduck You replied as I did
Thanks for the help.
How did you disable the extensions?" By right-clicking one of the extensions, and then the 'manage extensions' link, but once I'd switched them all off there was no longer any extension to right click and find that link again. I hunted around 'Settings' to find them but they were not there...

@biggly Good, it works again, sometimes cache and cookies are messed up, this happens in all browsers from time to time. Mostly caused by badly behaving extensions. This is why the most important thing to do is disable extensions and clear site data.

Most browsers have a menu containing links to special features, it is really up to the user to familiarize themselves with the program they're using.

@Pathduck Yeah, and that menu is usually called "Settings", usually represented by a gearbox icon.
