Solved Locked out of Vivaldi account in addition to webmail after reputation system implementation
-
This has happened to me over the weekend:
I use two accounts on Vivaldi, for quite some time. I use them to have two mail addresses, one personal and one more official. The account in question is the official one and is linked to this, personal one for recovery.
On Friday after I have learned about 2FA implementation, I happily added a pair of keys for added security. What surprised me, is that I got them set up on both accounts, without me adding them on the official account, only on personal. I thought it is because of the link between them. I checked the logins, system asked for keys and logged in, no problems.
Then I found out that I cannot log in via K-9 client on the phone. I simply removed the accounts from there and thought I will get back to it after the weekend. Then comes today. I suspiciously hadn't received any mail for two days (I use browser's built-in mail client). Suddenly browser client displays an error message that it can't authenticate. After some trial and error I managed to login to this, personal account and remove the keys, which I thought were the issue. But I am still locked out of my official account. Whenever I try to log into it, either on Vivaldi page or on Webmail, I end up at the address https://login.vivaldi.net/authenticationendpoint/login.do which happens to be an empty page with the generic Vivaldi logo and no error message whatsoever:
And I have no idea what is happening. I know about the new reputation system, but both of these accounts are pretty old (few years). Also, I can't even log in to my account to check what is wrong with my webmail.
The problem is only with one of the accounts, as you can see thi sone works fine, I have access to webmail here too.
I sent the message to Vivaldi team and the form told me that the copy of the message will be sent to my mail (I have access there with this account), but I hadn't receive it.
I am a little desperate, as this official account is pretty important to me. Please adivse.... -
@tehawa Vivaldi, net mail accounts need a extra password for external apps.
Had you set them for each extenal app after enabled 2FA?More information on troubleshooting:

@DoctorG I did not, but the problem is elsewhere. My post may be a bit messy, 'cause I'm a little nervous.
I have removed the 2FA since form my personal account and it works fine. The catch is I can't login to my official account at all, not just the webmail. I don't even know if trhe 2FA is set up there or is removed, because the system never asks for it but also does not allow me to log in.
Mail client error message says "Authentication error", so I guess the 2FA is in place, as you pointed out, the password should be different. But I can't even check that out, because I can't login to the account in the first place and the system does not ask me about keys...
EDIT: I sent the message to Vivaldi, but they did not respond (yet) and I did not get any confirmation on my mail of the message being sent.

We received your message to Support, but the contact email had a typo in it, so the automatic receival notification couldn't be delivered.
My colleague will get back to you via email as well, but I'll ask a few few questions to get some additional information.
Are you trying to log in to the different accounts in the same window/profile? If you are, try logging in to each of your accounts in a separate User Profile, Guest Profile or Private Window.

@jane-n Glad to hear that, my bad then.
I have tried to use different windows (private and not) and tabs, different browsers (Vivaldi, Firefox, Edge) on two different PCs and a mobile phone (Vivaldi). I also have tried to clean cookies between session. The effect is stil the same: I can log in to my private account but not to the official one, with the same screen showing up on each try, regardless of the device/browser. I thought it was due to the system being unable to display a key authentication popup, but for the private account it worked (before I removed the keys). -
