My daily routine has become unpinning and closing 100+ duplicate tabs. This is absolutely destroying my UX with this browser that I really enjoy. Please fix this soon, its a major issue.

I have this problem. I think it always happens when I open an external link and it opens in a new window.

I have the same problem, this is a great browser, I wish we didn't have these kind of bugs.

This is really annoying. I try to never close Vivaldi just because I don't want to deal with deleting the duplicated pinned tabs every single time I re-open it.
I tried disabling open tab sync as well as workspaces and neither solved the problem. The only reason I use Vivaldi over some other browser is because I prefer to use
CTRL-<num>
instead ofoption/cmd-<num>
(w/e the default is on MacOS) to switch to pinned tabs... but annoyances like this make me wonder if it's even worth it. -
Same here.
Workspace and sync are killer feature but I have to disable them to mitigate this issue.
It's been more than a year now, I'm considering changing browser if best features cannot be used.

I also have been having the issue since I began using the browser about six months ago. I usually leave vivaldi open and I use it on 3 computers (although even with sync I've never been able to have vivaldi share my already made workspaces/tabs with the other computers). It occurs almost random-- I notice it mostly on my home Macbook (the stats I used below). Maybe it just seems random because I usually leave the browser open. But sure enough I occasionally find my self using shift to select like 72 tabs and closing them. It's not a dealbreaker but if the issue's been happening this long... I mean come on.
Has anyone gotten replies on tickets that they are addressing this issue? For now I turned off the tabs sync and I guesss I'll see how that goes.

Hello,
I already mentioned here that I have this issue too. Today I wanna share a workaround that seems to be working just fine. I have a second vivaldi profile created (there are no workspaces used). And so on a browser startup I enter that second profile and switch to a primary one afterwards. -
Hi everyone, I believe the issue may have been resolved in the snapshot branch already. As I had mentioned before in this thread, I think that opening external links while Vivaldi had no windows open was the root cause of the problem here, but that no longer seems to trigger this bug for me in the latest snapshot.
So this could very well be fixed for good once version 6.7 is released. However, unless there is some other method that causes duplications, you may still experience this.
In that case, if you have experienced duplicated tabs in workspaces, I strongly suggest you to please give the latest snapshot a try. If you still get duplicate tabs after opening Vivaldi, try to pay very close attention to the manner in which you are opening it and do share your method here please. I'd be happy to test it out.

The problem still occurs in the version: 6.7.3329.21 (Stable channel) (arm64).
I will try to simulate the error event and post it here.
