Cannot Type In New Address Without Clearing Cache
-
When I type an address in the browser, and then realize I have mis-typed, I correct it, but Vivaldi changes it back to the incorrect address. Ex.:
Correct address: 192.168.1.1
I type: 192.167.1.1
Then I correct: 192.168.1.1, but
Vivaldi stays with 192.167.1.1, and it will not change even after restarting the browser or even after rebooting. I have noticed this in Windows 7 & 11, Mac Catalina, and Linuxmint 20.3.
I've noticed this over I cannot remember how many versions, but I've been procrastinating to send this in. Thanks. -
@gentisle Do you have "Address Field Drop Down Menu -> Show Drop Down when Typing" enabled? If I've mistyped an address (or URL) I've used before, I can pick it from the list - even when editing my typing fails.
But I agree editing should "just work".

@gentisle
Hi, I can reproduce it on 5.8 but not on Vivaldi 5.7.2921.65 stable.
Do I have to wait until the timeout message appear or stop loading or change the URL during loading?
Which version you are on?Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin
No waiting required. I can load the browser, and it will do that regardless of whether I enter it immediately, or wait a while.@LorenAmelang
I did; then I disabled, and re-enabled. I would have never found that. We'll see how that works. Thanks
