Cannot connect to VPN using Checkpoint SSL Network Extender

At my workplace we connect to the client's VPN using "Checkpoint SSL Network Extender", which is accessed through a web address entered in our browser. With all the other browsers on my PC this works, but not with Vivaldi. I get the page with a little deformed view saying: " Java is unavailable. Please read here for more details." which redirects me to here : https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk65144 when clicked on. If you had followed their "more details" a bit further, you'd have seen

Workaround since Google Chrome 42

This workaround will work only until Chrome version 45 is released later in 2015.Vivaldi is currently using Chromium 50 in which NPAPI (and hence Java) is disabled.
Until Checkpoint come up with a new implementation without Java, then you are (unfortunately) forced into using another (non-chromium) browser.
