No Video from Eufy security Cam/Doorbell
-
I can watch my front-door-camera from Eufy life through the web at https://mysecurity.eufylife.com/. But the screenpart where the images should appear hangs on "Preparing to play". I already told Vivaldi not to block anything. (and restarted Vivaldi) I whitelisted the site in my VPN and I even tried without my VPN connection. In Brave-browser everything works well (even without changing block-settings). What could I be doing wrong ?

@Brumpie
Do you have the Vivaldi ad blocker enabled for this page?
You can disable it with the shield icon in the address bar for a page.
Please add your Vivaldi and OS version.
Test this in a private window or the guest view.https://help.vivaldi.com/article/guest-view/
Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin No ; "I already told Vivaldi not to block anything. (and restarted Vivaldi)". So all blockers down.
-
@Brumpie
I am sorry, this is a standard text, I wrote this hundreds of times.
Do you check private and guest view?Cheers, mib
-
@Brumpie If you use the 5.7 Snapshot i can tell it ahs issues with video and image streams.
-
@Brumpie Are you using the Snapshot version?
There is an issue in the current Snapshot that might be the culprit, but Stable shouldn't be affected.
-
@mib2berlin Yes, thanks. I've tried Guest as well as Private.
Eufy always says "Established a secure channel" and then "Preparing to play". And then nothing.PS : I use Windows 11 Home, and Vivaldi is (always) the latest ; 5.6.2867.62 (Stable channel) (64-bits)
-
@DoctorG Thanks, No. Using the "normal" version : 5.6.2867.62 (Stable channel) (64-bits)

@nomadic Thanks, No. Using the "normal" version : 5.6.2867.62 (Stable channel) (64-bits)
-
@Brumpie By the way ;
Tried this site for the first time today, so there is no history about working or not. -
@Brumpie I have no knowledge about the technology and video coding the cam uses.
@Brumpie said in No Video from Eufy security Cam/Doorbell:
"Preparing to play". And then nothing.
You do not see the video stream?
Perhaps has Vivaldi a decoder issue. Vivaldi and its access to non-free video codecs on Windows is always trouble-some.Please read Help us to reproduce the issue carefully, discuss in forum if issue is a bug and can be confirmed by others.
Then report issue to Vivaldi bug tracker. Once that is done, share the bug number (beginning with VB-). Thanks for helping us making Vivaldi better. -
@DoctorG No, just a black square. I'll look into your next step(s).
-
@Brumpie For a test, open only one tab in Vivaldi with the cam page and hit Ctrl+F5. Do you see any block icon in at right of address field?
When you get such black area for camera output, can you create a new tab and visit
vivaldi://media-internals
in and tell what is shown for video player with the URL. If there is any information, copy it and paste here with the </> button as a code-block. -
@Brumpie Are you able to share the camera feed public, if at all possible with this system?
Also getting a lot of results for searching for this:
https://www.google.com/search?q="eufy"+"Preparing+to+play"
But no idea if any of those are relevant to your problem, as you say it works in another browser. -
@DoctorG No, I don't see anything in the address field. Only a small counter, running up to 13/13 while loading.
Is this what you mean ?
render_id: 22 player_id: 3 pipeline_state: kSuspended debug: FFmpegDemuxer: av_read_frame(): End of file pipeline_buffering_state: [object Object] event: kSuspended seek_target: 0 kRendererName: RendererImpl info: Selected WMFVideoDecoder for video decoding, config: codec: h264, profile: h264 high, level: not available, alpha_mode: is_opaque, coded size: [612,394], visible rect: [0,0,612,394], natural size: [612,394], has extra data: false, encryption scheme: Unencrypted, rotation: 0°, flipped: 0, color space: {primaries:SMPTE170M, transfer:SMPTE170M, matrix:SMPTE170M, range:LIMITED} kIsVideoDecryptingDemuxerStream: false kVideoDecoderName: WMFVideoDecoder kIsPlatformVideoDecoder: false dimensions: 612x394 kResolution: 612x394

@Pathduck Thanks ! No, I can't share. There's a security check with a code from my App on my phone.
I will look into the google search you mentioned. (And yes... It DOES work in Brave)
-
@Brumpie OK try this:
- Open the cam page
- Press F12 to open Developer Tools
- Click the Network tab on the top
- Reload the page using Ctrl+F5 to bypass cache
- Take note of any failing (red) lines in the network log
- Take screenshots of these, and make sure the Status column is as large as possible (it's kinda tricky)
For pasting your log from Media Internals, use the
</>
icon button, don't type it.
Then click "copy to clipboard" from both the properties and log headers and paste it between the ``` fields. The log output is kinda more important than the Status fields.Like this:
```
Paste code here
```I have fixed your output above, so you know how it should look when pasted. Remember you can edit your own posts.

@Brumpie Can you please check with a Standalone installation (means separate installation, you will not lose your browser data of 5.6 Stable) of 5.7 Snapshot. Perhaps that works.
-
@DoctorG I'll try that (later). Thanks.
-
@Pathduck No red lines.
