Tabs Outliner doesn't work
-
Hi, just a quick note. The "Tabs Outliner" extension doesn't work in Vivaldi. It loads, but the outliner window never appears so the extension can't actually do anything. Any idea when extension UI-related issues like this might be resolved?

I'd like to add my support for this request. Vivaldi's handling of tabs is slick, but Tabs Outliner is really convenient for grouping and organizing large numbers of tabs.
-
I don't think this one is for Vivaldi's devs to fix. Tabs outliner tries to create a child window from Chrome. Since Chrome is nowhere to be found it does not work. Hopefully the extension developer will be willing to write a Vivaldi specific version.

Paste this in adress bar: chrome-extension://eggkanocgddhmamlbiijnphhppkpkmkl/activesessionview.html?type=main&focusNodeId=2&altFocusNodeId=1&scrollToViewWinId=1
You can add it to side panel. It works brilliant without two separate windows like in chrome. -

Great, nice workaround waiting for a proper fix from Tabs Outliner developper. This plugin is a superb complement to Vivaldi's sessions management.

Updated / Improved / Stripped link – allows modification to the trees and does not create offline edits.

It doesn't work for me, it acts same as previous link.
I asked about this tabsoutliner creator few months ago and he responded:
Hi
Sorry, Vivaldi is not supported for now.
I have now in work version which will work as on Vivaldi as on Firefox and Microsoft Edge, and will not require Chrome Sign In. But it's not ready, planed to be released in 2 months.Best Regards
VladyslavBut sadly nothing happened since then..
Maybe someone figured out a way to make modification to the trees without offline links? I know it works for some people, i heard of method copying tabsoutliner extension folder from a chrome and paste it to vivaldi extensions but it doesn't work for me.

You might try SideWise extension, I guess.

After 1.7 update Tabs outliner now fully works for me :).
Allows modification to the trees and does not create offline edits.Check if it wors for you too

Does anyone know if upgrading to a paid version (through chrome account) will enable the paid features on Vivaldi? And for that matter is there an up to date contact info on the author? His domain and email seem to not work anymore.

This is one of the reasons why functions need to be built into the browser - not entrusted to extensions.

@dLeon thank you much. That's very useful.

Also advised to mail directly to, the address mentioned in this threads;

(And besides, I always kind of hated Tabs Outliner.)

@pioun that is an AWESOME workaround, thank you for figuring that out. I wonder though, do you think there is a way to make it detect whether or not one has the paid version of tabs outliner? I do have the paid version, and I have backups associated with my account in Google Drive...I guess I could just Chrome to access my backups and otherwise stick to Vivaldi...
