Feeds stopped working
-
One or two snapshot versions ago feeds worked then it stopped with 2876.11.
So I have been going back and installing the old snapshots to get the one where feeds work and I have gone as far as 5.6.2865.3 and it's still not working.
Any idea why it's not working in the older versions? and when this might be fixed?
Thanks

@troypulk Have you tried re-adding the feeds in a fresh profile? Also, try running it without extensions (if you have any) in case they are interfering.

@LonM Thanks,
How do I run a fresh profile? will it delete what I already have?

Still not working with extensions turned off.

@troypulk If you click the profile icon in the address bar you can try out a different profile, and switch between them, so you won't lose any data.
Here is an article explaining this: https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/tools/user-profiles/

Thanks,
Feeds work with a new profile, I don't want to keep making a profile to get feeds to work.In one of the last few updates feeds stopped working, can we fix that?
Where is feeds in ~/.config/vivaldi-snapshot/ and I'll trying hacking it my self.
Thanks again

@troypulk There are two main places. The feed items once collected are stored as text .eml files in the profile folder under "Mail". (Go to settings > Feeds > reveal data folder)
But there is also a mail database that you can only access through the browser dev tools. I would not recommend trying to hack that yourself, as it may be very easy to get it into a more corrupt state.
If the feeds are working in a new profile, it may be that toggling them in the existing profile might help. You could try changing the update interval or offline checkbox settings for feeds first.

similar issue here..
resolved for the time being by deleting stray feeds listed in the settings feeds list
that were not showing the panel feeds list.love the feeds feature.. i use it mostly for utube as i dont have a goog acount.
albiet, to get the feed icon in the url bar on tube these days.. need to manually edit
the channel url from ...youtube.com/@ChannelName to ...youtube.com/c/ChannelName ,
then it shows and can click add the feed.
