Connection to Baïkal CalDAV (Solved)
-
Today I set up my own CalDAV/CardDAV server using Baïkal.
- Thunderbird is having no trouble connecting to this.
I am able to view, create and edit contacts & calendar events from within Thunderbird. - Vivaldi Mail and Calendar cannot connect, returning the following error message:
No calendars found. Check that your credentials are correct and your calendar service has calendars configured.
(If desired I could provide a test account)
- Thunderbird is having no trouble connecting to this.

@jane-n could this be something to look into or am I way off base?

@S_Paternotte
Thanks for reporting.
I will have a look.I'm installing docker with Baikal now. But if you have an instance running and could share test account that would be great.

I tested Baikal with Docker image.In Baïkal web admin. System settings, Are you using: WebDAV authentication type: Digest?
Digest authentication method is not supported in Vivaldi.Try changing it to Basic, and see if that works.

I was indeed using the default auth method 'digest'.
I'll try different methods tomorrow.Thanks
-
@arnar WebDAV authentication type Basic works!
Thanks. -
Now I'd be interested in seeing Vivaldi supporting CardDAV

@arnar Are you still interested in a test account on my Baïkal server or will you use your own Baïkal installation as needed?
-
@S_Paternotte
I have my own Baïkal instance running. No need for test account on your server. Thanks though.Also. CardDAV is being worked on.

Hi together,
I'm also very interested in connecting my Baikal instance with Vivaldi - both CalDAV and CardDAV. Is it planned to implement digest auth at some stage, or will "basic" stay the only option for the time being?
Thanks!

@iSchulze
At the moment there no plans of implementing digest authentication. Not many servers around using it.
