Single File Download Feature Unreadable header/footer
-
Hello,
When I press the "download for offline review" feature (Entire Web Page option), Vivaldi does a great job rendering all of the Web page, but it always downloads without any file extension given to the file by default. I have to rename the file as an "html" file extension. That is not a big issue, but the file contains a header and a footer message which is a whole bunch of file attribute type of information and "Multipart Boundary" on the header abd the footwr. This happens regardless of generating the file on either Desktop or Android and it makes no difference what brand of browser I use to open and view the downloaded file. Of course, if I look at it in Vivaldi, it renders perfectly, but if I want to share the file with someone who is not using Vivaldi or I want to open tge file up outside of Vivaldi, the header and footer are there. Is there anyway to hide those headers abd footers? Attached is a sample footer screenshot, where you can see as tge Web page is transitioning from tge readable part (human eyes) to the machine-readable part (Vivaldi browser).
Many thanks for all of your work with providing a great tool!

Where is this feature? Are you using an extension? You posted in the extensions forum.
Here, it is called Save Page As... and adds the *.html extension. The result is pretty good, with just some missing icons. This is the Recent topics page.

@tostartwith Judging from the snapshot I'm assuming you're talking about Vivaldi for Android? And the save the page feature that shows when you tap the Vivaldi menu, at the bottom?
I was not presented with any sort of dialog to choose a "Entire Web Page option", but I tried schanging the extension to .mhtml (which seems more appropriate for this type of file) and it opened alright in an mhtml viewer... interestingly my cellphone did not think Vivaldi was suitable to open that type of file...

@tostartwith Please clarify your request. I checked both Vivaldi on Desktop and Android, and they both save webpages with file extensions. On the Desktop, you can choose "HTML Only *.html; *.htm", "Single File *.mhtml" or "Complete *html; *.htm". On Android, it saves as *.mhtml by default. I tried opening those files using Edge on Desktop and Android, and they all looked fine.
