BlackBerry OS 10

Dear developers,
Do you like challenges? Then, on behalf of myself and more than 2 million other users, I would like to request a working Vivaldi APK application for BlackBerry OS10 Passport Classic and Q10. More and more of us are returning to the old BlackBerry phone because android wants to know too much, apple won't allow Vivaldi.
Thanks, I'm waiting for the solution

@Mtxaudio8 A store version may require time. But if the BOS10 is android based or has an android wrapper you can just grab the plain apk from the download page. Should work fine.

@Hadden89
Yes, it is based on Android, but the most previous version of Vivaldi does not allow me to install it even though I use several Android applications on it, either Android 2.3 or Android 11 this application picks the BlackBerry OS 10 built on Android once and ran under the name QNX. -
@Mtxaudio8 Could be an issue. Vivaldi only support Android 5+ and BBOS10.3 "true API support" seems to be on android 4.3

@Hadden89
I will now install the very first beta version of Vivaldi Browser: Smart & Swift 2.7.1624.163 (arm-v7a) (Android 5.0+) -

Just remember is a very old version which couldn't work anymore. Don't use it as a main browser. But I fear newer doesn't.
//edit: probably Vivaldi now need android 6. So if 5v works this may work too but even still not recommended.

I just read the Processor.
Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AA)
CPU: armeabi-v7a
Android: 4.3(Jelly Bean)
API level: 18
Android ID: 917d570686d133c
Build: 10.3.3.213
Baseband: QNX
Java Runtime version: android runtime 0.9 -

It's Android 6+ now, Vivaldi no longer supports Android 5.

Yes, it is based on Android
Adording to the Wikipedia "BlackBerry 10" article:
BlackBerry 10 is a discontinued proprietary mobile operating system for the BlackBerry line of smartphones, both developed by BlackBerry Limited (formerly Research In Motion). BlackBerry 10 is based on QNX, a Unix-like operating system [...] [S]ome later models features an Android runtime to run Android applications.
It sounds like BlackBerry OS 10 is not based on Android, per sy, but can run Android apps. The question is: Can it run apps for Android 6 or above? If not, you're not getting Vivaldi on your BlackBerry OS.
-
@Mtxaudio8 Then you should find for a browser which has 4.x support.
Via seems to, is updated and used to work nicely on my phone.@Eggcorn Probably an android proprietary runtime as SailFishOS.

Does Via use it's own layout engine, or the layout engine from the system? If it uses the system's layout engine, then you'd still have the security risks and website incompatibilities of a severely outdated browser.
-
Thanks, it works in my language too. But is the app reliable?
-
@Mtxaudio8 The app itself is good. Here you can see which layout is using:

But I fear there are not too much choices for BBOS10/4.3.
