At first glance this Eneba website seems to be something similar to G2A (a marketplace where people or "vendors" sell codes to activate games or gift cards). If it is, then they might not be a good partner to work with, as sites like this aren't considered to be good places to buy games. There are a number of reasons (scams, people reselling game keys purchased with stolen credit cards, game devs receiving little to no revenue from sales, etc) and I recommend looking up some of the common criticisms of G2A to see what I'm talking about as I won't be linking to any of it here.
If you want to save money on games, there's a website called "IsThereAnyDeal" (again I'm not linking to anything in this post) where they have a database of almost every game on Steam/Origin/Epic/Ubisoft/etc. and they list prices, sales, etc. You can even have them e-mail you when things go on sale. They also have an extension that shows you price history for games when you look at them on Steam, and they show you the current lowest price on other sites as well (legitimate online game stores like Fanatical, Humble Bundle, Green Man Gaming, etc. that get game keys direct from publishers/developers).

nice shot! it's better to check your future partners before you make a partnership with them.

I checked Eneba with Blacklight, VT and Webkoll, Blacklight and VT say the site is clean and Webkoll can`t access and said that Eneba block invaders, Scamvoid say that Eneba have good reputation.
I trust more an analytic than usercomments in socal network. Jabber only reports a not so good user support, but this has nothing to do with scam -

I trust more an analytic than usercomments in socal network. Jabber only reports a not so good user support, but this has nothing to do with scamit's a prefect representation of "I wanna see what I wanna see". Eneba spoiled their reputation before, and now does the same (though in a different manner).

@faith_healer , I simply don't know, I only know that the mencioned pages are not analysing the reputation, but the tecnical security and privacy aspects, the only page which put the reputation is Jabber, and a comment of a user.
I remember an app, WOT, which was used by other companies and bots to destroy the reputation of competitors with a bad valoration.
I don't know Eneba and I don't plan to use its services either, because I'm not going to buy games or the hardware exposed on this page, but I think it's always risky to base yourself on the evaluation of a user, on Reddit precisely, to accuse a page of scam , when its technical details and security analysis of it do not confirm it. Apart if this page is scam, with the adblocker and the scam filter in Vivaldi you couldn't even access this page without seeing an on-screen alert.
Eneba was founded in 2018 in the EU, if it were a Scam page, since years it were closed by law.
https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/eneba@luetage ,
Eneba.com is legal in all countries. While it can be a safe website to purchase video game keys from, there are cases where you may accidentally purchase a bad game key.
The good news is, Eneba.com requires sellers to submit an “application” to sell on their website. Sellers must fill out a pretty detailed form, conduct a phone call with Eneba.com, and then be allowed to sell on the website if Eneba thinks they are reputable. This differs from other online video game resellers, where almost anyone can sell anything on the said website. This screening process gives Eneba.com another layer of security and trustworthiness.
According to Eneba.com’s FAQ section, a seller only receives payment once the buyer has confirmed they have received their purchased game key. Always check to see if it works before confirmation! This is good news for the customer, so you don’t have to worry about the risk of losing all your money immediately. Also, sellers are required to send you the key within a certain amount of time. If they don’t deliver within the allotted time, your funds will automatically be refunded and the transaction will be canceled.

@Catweazle You got it completely backwards. It’s not about whether the page is secure, or whether it tries to scam people. It’s about the fact it’s a grey marketplace giving third parties the opportunity to sell game codes. The only reason why anyone would want to use such a marketplace is for the fact you get the codes cheaper than from the source. Now we naturally have to ask ourselves why is that? How do the sellers acquire the codes and who loses and who profits in the ensuing transactions and why…
@Catweazle Please stop editing your original post. You haven’t understood what I said. I am not insinuating Eneba is scamming customers, not at all. The ones who are getting scammed are the game developers and the platforms (Steam, Blizzard, etc.). The info you provide is useless.
-
@luetage , Ive edited my message because of this. As I said, I would never buy something on sites like this, there are better sites to buy or get games (GOG, Steam, Itch.io, Digipen, etc), but this is up to each one, I'm just saying that I don't consider this page scam just based on what a user says on Reddit. Worse, to say that Vivaldi is asociated with a scam page.
-
@Catweazle You still don’t get it. Again, Eneba of course tries to ensure that customers can safely acquire game codes and doesn’t try to scam customers, you can stop beating that dead horse. But you should try to understand that there is more to it. And you have to acknowledge that Eneba isn’t buying and selling game keys/codes, third party sellers do that. Eneba is simply the platform. Whether Vivaldi should be associated with this company is another question altogether.
It’s clear Eneba contacted both Opera and Vivaldi for advertisement purposes. Both companies took the deal. Whoever decided this and agreed to the deal has hopefully had all the information and insight necessary.

@Team_Vivaldi
additional to what @GT500 said, in 2019 there was a big twist between indie developers and key resellers. even game developers said better use pirate copies than keys from resellers. I only found this german article which summarized the dispute (sorry, I'm at my smartphone only)
perhaps you consider your decision -

I'm mostly can't help but feel offended that this eneba thing popped up in my speed dial unexpectedly. Almost feel violated that it appeared without my consent given the "privacy" posture Vivaldi claims. I get it that companies have to cut some deals to keep the lights on and pay their employees, and I would expect some of this kind of bloat in a fresh installation of a browser, but after an update? I almost didn't even remember updating the browser so it kinda blindsided me. Thought i had some kind of browser add-on adware.
Not only that but I just got two really unexpected "thanks for subscribing to our marketing emails" in my inbox this morning... something that almost never happens unexpectedly for me because of how heavily controlled my online presenceis...
... hard to feel like this isn't related.. -

... hard to feel like this isn't related..Vivaldi does not give/sell your data to others.
The Eneba speed dial and the mails you've got are a coincidence but not related. -
@RidoKilos I very much agree with RidoK. The appearance of the eneba speed dial freaked me out and I began searching for what it was and where it came from. I've been hacked through the "safe" Vivaldi once and, though I stuck with them, I am very cautious about unexpected files, etc.
-
@RidoKilos I too was shocked by the appearance of the eneba icon on my speed dial - I wasted time finding out what it was and how it came to be there. I am offended that Vivaldi violated my privacy and trust in this way. Is this attitude pervasive throughout Vivaldi? It is a very small step from there to sanctioning other invasions of the Vivaldi community's privacy and safety. If it happens again I will reluctantly and sadly stop using Vivaldi. Vivaldi is a great product, but it looks like it isn't backed by an ethical organisation.
