Vivaldi Calender setting event one day earlier
-
@janrif @mib2berlin I am currently working on things related to this problem. That is with things changing in a weird way when editing events/tasks.
There are things that need to change in response to other things changing, f.ex. when you change an event to "All day" we have to add one day to the end time to get the end date in the way users expect. This then is complicated more with our choice to allow the option to change from event to task and back.
So now I am trying to improve our test coverage and make this work more reliably since it has constantly been breaking in some way when something else was fixed.
I hope this work will result in something that is more coherent and consistent. Thanks as always for your testing, reporting and putting up with bugs

At least the simple use case seems to be solved for me now with 6.0.2979.11 (Stable channel) stable (64-bittinen) - I can add an event on the browser with the default tz setting and it shows up correctly on Android mobile, synced via caldav. No need for the previous "always local" workaround anymore.

@JyrkiKuoppala I continue to have this issue when using Google Calendar in Vivaldi with Google Tasks in Android.

I have this issue too only when change a task status to complete in Vivaldi with Google tasks.

@eggert Once again something strange is happening in calendar.
For example: If I enter an all day // repetitive monthly, it shows up as crossing over to the day after as well; i.e. event shows up in day & day +1
So I edit this day item & start date today end time is date tomorrow.
Edit item correcting end date & set changes for all occurrences. The save dialog asks if I want change only this item or all items; I choose all items, then [Save]
Result: The item disappears on the edited date + all recurrences.
Vivaldi 6.1.3035.100 (Stable channel) (64-bit)

OS Windows 11 Version 22H2 (Build 23486.1000) -
Same Problem here.
When I add a new task on 30.11.2023 in the Tooltip-Text it shows up as from 30.11.2023-29.11.2023 as you can see in the Screenshot.
In Vivaldi-Tasks the new task will be correctly shown on the 30.11.2023 but in Google-Task this task will be shown one day earlier on the 29.11.2023.
But I think the tooltip-text shows that there is a problem relating to timezones.
