What is the best textmarker for permanent highlights?
-
Every now and then I would like to permanently mark passages of text. That is, save the page as a bookmark and find the markings again when I open it again.
I have tried a few extensions, but none was satisfactory.
Which one would you recommend? Or is the feature available directly from Vivaldi?

@Dancer18 It is already available in Vivaldi.
Select text on a page, copy "Link to Highlight" from the selected text context menu, and create a bookmark with that URL.
This method does not seem to work on all pages, however, e.g. it works on this forum, but not on the Blog.

@Pesala Thanks for the quick reply! So it's new in the latest snapshot.
The RC is already released. So I'll wait until the 5.4 stable. -

Ok. I upgraded Vivaldi and found the context menu item.
However, I struggled with using it.
First, I highlighted any text and clicked on the item.
Then I bookmarked the page.
After opening the bookmark no highlight is visible. So I prefer to have visible text highlighting, maybe yellow.
That doesn't happen so far.
Maybe it is a beta feature? -
@Dancer18 It works for me:
- Highlight any text
- Right-click
- Copy link to highlight
- Bookmark page
- Paste copied link as the URL of the new bookmark
If you just bookmark the page, that is what you will get:

The full code is like this:

Until I find a better one, I have installed
Super Simple Highlighter
and will test it.
